    Good Place to Work

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThis was small bank at the time. It was nice to work for tight group of professional. The head office is in a nice building close to downtown Pasadena. This bank has continued to grow.

ConsWhen I worked there, they were in the stage of going from a really small bank to more a business regional bank. There was the normal amount of stress involved with growth.

Stuffy, archaic, highly political, narrow-minded, and low paying

    Accounting (Former Employee) Pasadena, CA

ProsThe location is great being on Colorado Blvd, close to shopping and restaurants. Easy to get to from the freeways.

ConsWelcome to the 1950's. Career advancement is nil here. The CFO is SO behind the times she uses sticky notes instead of outlook contacts. They still had PAGERS back in 2010. Highly political environment with extremely narrow-minded and culturally ignorant employees. I actually like the CFO and particularly the Head of HR. However business operations and company culture start at the top and this bank has some serious catching up to do.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou get what you pay for. Just because something has been done a certain way for years, doesn't make it the most efficient or logical process.

There is a lot of truth to what you say that change has been slow at Community Bank. That message was conveyed by other existing employees and new hires. Management has been listening, and over the ... More

    Great Place to Work

Credit Analyst (Former Employee) Olean, NY

ProsGreat place to work. All employees communicate well with each other. Management is knowledgeable and provides excellent feedback for career development. Promotions are fair and given to deserving employees.

ConsPay is low compared to industry averages ($28M starting). The opportunity for advancement is minimal due to the markets the bank operates in. Vacation is poor, 16 days for first year employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementNothing in particular. The bank operates in a small market and functions very well. Management is in tune with market conditions and risk adverse.

    A Community Bank Review

    Credit Analyst (Current Employee)

ProsVery involved and tied to success of the local community.

ConsThere is not a lot of opportunities for promotions, as there are minimal positions.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe leadership at the community bank should be quicker to react to concerns.
