    I worked at Community Bank

    Pros

Normal hours. Great colleagues. Learned a lot about the banking industry. Was able to see how banks got to their bottom line

    Cons

Not much opportunity for organic growth within the company. A lot of older techniques and outdated applications. Although they are transitioning

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace the new banking world. Ditch the retail mortgage department and stick to what the bread and butter of the company is. Small business loans

I worked at Community Bank part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The clients make the job worthwhile more than anything; okay pay compared to other banks; more customer service oriented vs sales

    Cons

    No room to grow; management needs to grasp the aspect of compassion for employees and customers; executives need a more open minded perspective because NO ONE at this bank approves change;

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that employees are not just numbers, but human beings.

I worked at Community Bank full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good knowledgeable people with great ideas and strong background outside of management.

    Cons

Poor leadership and integrity of executive management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring-in good leadership and provide better direction by being realistic with goals for the Bank. The Bank keeps making the same mistakes over and over with new management. You try to provide solutions and end up going back to the same pitfalls that created problems in the first place. Integrity of executive management is questionable and has provided for low morale company wide.

    I worked at Community Bank

    Pros

Interesting clients, nice coworkers. Base pay OK, but lousy pay raises. Decent physical work environment. Work-life balance is reasonable.

    Cons

Numerous layoffs and demotions in last 2 months. Perhaps bank is being positioned for sale. Chief Executive Officer David Misch and executive managers completely untrustworthy, yet continue to preach the importance of integrity. Lousy pay raises last year. Don't go to work there!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't think this management team is interested in any advice. They are total hypocrites.

    I worked at Community Bank

    Pros

This was small bank at the time. It was nice to work for tight group of professional. The head office is in a nice building close to downtown Pasadena. This bank has continued to grow.

    Cons

When I worked there, they were in the stage of going from a really small bank to more a business regional bank. There was the normal amount of stress involved with growth.

    Pros

The location is great being on Colorado Blvd, close to shopping and restaurants. Easy to get to from the freeways.

    Cons

Welcome to the 1950's. Career advancement is nil here. The CFO is SO behind the times she uses sticky notes instead of outlook contacts. They still had PAGERS back in 2010. Highly political environment with extremely narrow-minded and culturally ignorant employees. I actually like the CFO and particularly the Head of HR. However business operations and company culture start at the top and this bank has some serious catching up to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You get what you pay for. Just because something has been done a certain way for years, doesn't make it the most efficient or logical process.

    Pros

Great place to work. All employees communicate well with each other. Management is knowledgeable and provides excellent feedback for career development. Promotions are fair and given to deserving employees.

    Cons

Pay is low compared to industry averages ($28M starting). The opportunity for advancement is minimal due to the markets the bank operates in. Vacation is poor, 16 days for first year employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing in particular. The bank operates in a small market and functions very well. Management is in tune with market conditions and risk adverse.
