    Pros

    Good pay, good co-workers, definitely a place you can find a career at, not just a job to get by. If you show your skills and abilities excel in certain areas, they do not hesitate to get you on the right path.

    Cons

    Nothing major, some members can be difficult but management provides the ability to dissolve problems and please even the most difficult members.

    Pros

    Good pay, flexible hours, benefits. Hard working co workers who stick by you.

    Cons

    Unattainable sales goals. Major disconnect between Headquarters and Branches. Upper management is all about making money. More like a bank than a credit union.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get out of your offices at HQ and learn what it is really like in a Branch setting.

    Pros

    Fellow employees, hours are good, usually home evenings and holidays.

    Cons

    Management doesn't have a clue. Board members have a history of using the Credit Union for personal gain when they are supposed to be volunteers. President not very personable, hard to deal with. Nepotism makes advancement difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Nepotism is a big problem. President not a people person. Some board members use position for personal gain. Poorly ran. Long time board members should resign. Term limits would be a good idea.

    Pros

    The credit union is a great company. It is run by an executive team who really cares about the employees, the members, and the community. The benefits are very good and they provide the ability to advance. They are very big on taking care of the members, which is better than working for a company who treats people like dirt.

    Cons

    There are not any real cons, but if I had to come up with something it would be the lack of training for new Member Service Rep's (Bankers.) However, when I left the position they working on new training to improve that. Also, the pay might be a bit low compared to the big banks, but its totally worth it.

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

    Great place to work with excellent pay, benefits and Leaderhsip Team. Not sure where some of the other employees have had their head stuck that posted on here because a raise and bonus was paid to the employees this year. Oh, maybe your too busy being negative and running your mouth to get your job done so you did not receive a bonus or raise? Wow don't hear that very many companies are awarding staff with raises, full health insurance coverage at no cost to the employee, no cost dental insurance, annual bonus, 401K matching and retirement contribution?? If you are so unhappy please leave and go get a job somewhere else so the rest of us can continue working for a great organization and not have negative people like you around. I guess you sure don't mind taking a paycheck bi-weekly from the credit union that you describe as awful?!?

    Pros

    Community First has some of the most dedicated employees who are dedicated to helping their members. Adequate pay, although no substantial raises in years and good benefits package.

    Cons

    A total lack of business knowledge and poor decisions by senior management has led to the decline of Community First. They have been losing substantial money for years and it continues today. Senior management is more concerned about keeping their high paying jobs than they are the condition of the employees and the money of the membership. The term, "be grateful you have a job" is used quite a bit. Employee overall morale is horrible and senior management seems to have no idea of how to correct this problem. The problems at Community First are beginning to be heard in Jax and they are having trouble hiring and retaining competent employees. Overall there is a real lack of confidence in senior management's ability to lead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop the country club atmosphere between the volunteer board and senior management. This is serious business and you seem to have no idea on how to correct the many problems this institution has as a result of your incompetence. Stop floating trial baloons to see what might work and find some ideas that will work or get out of the way.

    Pros

    Community First has always been a great place to work. The majority of the upper management are very down to earth and not intimidating by any means. The CEO is very hands on and does not feel the need to splurge on unnecessary things. Managers for the most part are very understanding with their employees. The company is very good at acknowledging when you have accomplished good work.

    Cons

    Seems there are some employees should be let go due to attitudes, job performance and complaints, but they seem to always give excuses to keep them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There seems to be a lot of upper management, if it's needed then it's needed. But those opportunities are never offered internally.

    Pros

    Okay benefits and less than adequate compensation. Some department managers are well qualfied for their position. There are some very minor attempts by senior management to make working conditions better but no enough to make a difference right now.

    Cons

    Unfortunately this institution no longer has a good reputation for hiring good employees and the ability to retain them. Many excellent staff personnel have left or being driven out by senior management seeking to eliminate high paid individuals, except for themselves. Morale overall is terrible and it is no longer a great place to work in Jacksonville. Senior management contimues to float trail ballons to see what will work, especially in trying to increase loan volumn. Confidence in the leadership by most employees is at rock bottom and more good people are looking for new jobs as the market improves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It is time for some of the senior leadership to be replaced with people with new ideas on how to increase income and make their employees more welcome. The board members need to clearly see that this team is not getting it done, after all these years, and changes need to be made. Leadership needs to stop just looking out for their own jobs and focus on the big picture.

    Pros

    Relatively stable environmen with a history of not laying off workers. Friendly staff.

    Cons

    Senior management does NOT have vision necessary to run the company effectively in the 21st century. Very reliant on the viewpoints of the "old" guard and not forward-thinking. Indecisive when bold action is needed and too stubborn to change directions when mistakes are made.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The 21st century is here! Retire and make way for a younger generation - so that fresh ideas can flourish within the organization.
