    Company sold, position eliminated. No other position was available for an LPN.

    Pros

    Initial payscale is above average although you are guaranteed to never get much more despite years of service. Good place to work for a year then move on.

    Cons

    Constant chaos, nearly devoid of communication, no sense of focus or direction and a major lack of employee incentive. The level of arrogance from owner and Executive Management is through the roof. Year after year of hardwork at annual evaluations you get the same speech of "we can't do raises again this year" but during the year, company emails are sent bragging about how much money the company has made. Big purchases are made, remodeling is constant but they can't afford a more than a 37 cent raise if even that. It's absurd.

    To top it off, upper level management are clueless in how to perform the jobs they are overseeing. They lean heavily on low level worker bees to give them direction on how they should be operating. Seems if you are in charge, you should be knowledgeable of how a department works and have the ability to offer expertise in workplace improvement. That is non-existent at CHS.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you are going to continue emassing riches by trampeling on the backs of your "dime a dozen" pee-ons, use a little common sense. Don't announce how rich you are while telling me that my cost of living increase is too much to ask. Try giving a little incentive and appreciation to the ones who made you wealthy. You get so much more with honey than vinegar.

    Pros

    Most of the people there are great. Many of my co-workers are very smart, and great to work with. They have great work ethics, and do a great job for the company.

    Cons

    It is hard to stay engaged and motivated since the company has no direction or goals. They are constantly shifting focus, sometimes daily, which leads to difficulty in understanding the individual responsibilities from one day to the next. There is no communication in this company except through the grapevine. Everything works on favoritism, even bonus' and salary increases which are very few and far between. The senior leaders at the executive level are always fighting amongst themselves and then trying to influence people to take sides, it is a totally non-productive and inefficient environment. There is no ability to grow in this company. Most of the executive leadership members are extremely unprofessional and always letting everyone know how valuable and privileged they are; it is atrocious how poorly staff and middle management are treated. I don't believe that this company has a future in healthcare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I have no advice, there is too much dysfunction and with the current ownership and leadership, the culture of the company is so toxic that I don't see a way to fix it. For people who like to be bullies, play favorites, take the money and run, it is a perfect environment. For all others who are ethical and have integrity, run away as fast as possible.

    Pros

    Flexible scheduling, some supervisors are good, management is understanding of life issues, its the co-workers make this place tolerable for however long you need to be here. Pay is better for being a call center.

    Cons

    The benefits get worse every year. Policy changes made without informing people what changes will be affecting them. Raises are a joke. No incentives or bonuses. Morale is really low. No upward mobility, the manager favorites are promoted to the meager supervisory opportunities. The supervisors are too overworked and are more burned out than their team members. The company had call center reps work on this really important project that once complete they sent an email out telling them it made the company over $10 million and the employees got a pizza party.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Give incentives. Get better benefits. Take care of your employees and they will work hard for you then just the paycheck you're giving out now.

    None - there are no pros nor advantages working at this company.

    Cons

    Don't ever go work there. They are not financially sound and are constantly in a state of transition from one method of madness to another.

    Pros

    Good location for commute from all areas; you can survive here by keeping quiet and doing minimal work as long as you don't ask any questions and do exactly what your told.

    Cons

    Moral very low with employees; high producing co-workers are walked out almost every Friday with no warning. Little to no communication from upper management. No employee perks and minimal benefits. Low pay scale. No room for growth. Your boss will more than likely not have a clue what you do and will give you orders to do things that are impossible or do not make any sense.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Grow the talent from within; keep your shining stars instead of being threatened by them. Stop hiring management that does not know anything about the positions being hired for. Utilize the skills of the in-house staff

    Pros

    Mostly good people to work with. Fair supervisors. Central location for car drivers.

    Cons

    Favoritism off the scale. Every job is filled by hand picked favorites by management--no posting/interviews required. As I said, the supervisors are fair and easy to work with. VP/Executive level operate as royalty and "tell" people their moving desks/departments--you are not asked or given any raise in pay. Bare-bones staff and you can be fired in a heartbeat at the whim of management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make a game plan and communicate! If changes are coming, tell us! Don't have people move desks every week or have HR come in and walk out co-workers almost every Friday. If you really cared you'd realize that moral is non-existent! The $3.00 hot dogs was the last straw for many people. Stop being so cheap!

    Pros

    It's a job. Co-workers are nice; most of the supervisors and managers are nice. Work environment is acceptable. Location in county is centralized but difficult for bus riders.

    Cons

    No wage increases and no advancment opportunities. Told both would not happen this year. Average wages for the area. Like noted above, the office is located in a difficult place for bus riders. About a 2 hour ride for most. Managment does not encourage or motivate employees with sponsoring pot lucks or holiday events. The cost of those things is the burden of the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More motivation, more encouragement, more recognition; Offer opportunities for advancement or be honest with employees and tell them there is no future for the company due to no Medicaid expansion so they have enough time to look for another job. Perhaps employees can assist with ideas in developing business in those states that DID expand Medicaid??? We are never asked what ideas we might have.
