    I worked at Community Health Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Many highly skilled professional co-workers, nearly all who have left CHS for better working conditions.

    Cons

    Unsafe equipment the management refuses to fix. Absolutely demoralizing management methodology rewarding only themselves and berating much of the best patient care staff they had. Company appears to get rid of employees who may begin to show any health difficulties related to overwork. "Employee Assistance program" is a total sham. Overwhelming workload on patient care staff with extreme pressure and insistence that no matter the workload there is to be no overtime, but must finish all work. Work at CHS only at extreme personal liability peril.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get over yourselves. The so called "Halversonian" method adopted at the time I was employed there did nothing but demoralize, demean and completely turn off highly skilled care staff I know who worked at your hospitals and only motivated nearly all to seek better employment conditions since, gladly found. Management completely ignores serious requests to fix equipment and attempts to lay blame for equipment based problems back on employees.
