A fast paced environment, with little to no job recognition.

Respiratory Therapist (Current Employee) Bowling Green, KY

ProsAre given plenty of opportunities to work on your own without being micro-managed.

ConsNo chance for advancement, pay is not competitive with other hospitals.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more attention to your employees. You have several in my department that are considered full time, are given full time benefits, yet rarely work full time hours. There are many, many instances of preferential treatment, etc.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Worst experience of my career.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsPaycheck every two weeks, that's it.

ConsManagement is horrendous, The most abusive environment I have ever been exposed to. Corporate has no interest as to what goes on in the field, communicating any information, regardless of it's importance goes ignored/denied.

Advice to Senior ManagementShut it down.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood group of people, benefits are ok.

ConsNo bonus or stock options for employees unless you management. People are in roles that do not belong there.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more into your employees

    Overworked, underpaid, and not appreciated

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsDecent health insurance and other benefits. Good amount of PTO accrual. Steady hours and job security. Coworkers who are willing to work as a team to get job done.

ConsDifficult to get approval for PTO, scant raises, no appreciation for hard work and genuine effort. Only receive notice when an error is made, patient safety is often at risk in CHS hospitals as well as your license as a professional. No effort is made to rotate holidays so same employees work all holidays every year.

Advice to Senior ManagementAppreciate your lower level employees, tell them if you see them doing a good job, we like to know when we are doing something well and not only when we are doing something wrong. Don't play favorites. For direct supervisors, if you think something is going on with one of your employees talk to them directly about it, don't let it continue until they hear about it from another source, stop the problem before it starts!

    Overall a good experience.

    Team Lead (Current Employee)

ProsStrong company. Great leadership at certain levels. Hard working individuals can be recognized and rewarded if properly marketed by management. Good amount of holidays. CEO awards an extra holiday around Christmas. Pay could be better, but other benefits do help a little.

ConsSome of executive leadership is weak, ineffective, and stuck in old ways. Some lower level management is useless and simply a hinderance to productivity. No bonus structure for non-management.

Advice to Senior ManagementRelax dress code. Revisit outdated policies.

Leadership is lacking from the top down

Security Engineer (Former Employee) Nashville, TN

ProsStable job. They love to boast about not having laid of employees. Since they use a large contractor force they are able to let them go without touching their employees.

ConsLower level management and Directors are terrified of the C level. Salaries are low and their are no bonuses or compensation for completing business objectives. Salary levels are defended in meetings as being in line with average field salaries. This is achieved by using basic titles such as "Systems Analyst" or Security Engineer". Since these are very generic titles compared to your job functions it allows CHS to compete on paper.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe C level needs to be shaken up for anything to change at CHS.

I have been disappointed since CHS took over our hospital.

    Xxx (Current Employee) Penn, PA

ProsThere are many good people who really care about their jobs and doing them well. Compliance, rules and regulations are followed completely.

ConsThey remove good systems that are working well to put in old backward systems which make it much harder to work efficiently. All communication is one way from Corporate down. They do not care to here from the front lines what is really going on because they do not intend to change.

Advice to Senior ManagementCome out of the corporate office building and listen to people in the hospitals. Employees should not be afraid to say what is actually going on and upper management should actually want to hear the truth,

Worst place to work, operates on a small scale, within a large scale environment.

Team Lead (Current Employee) Franklin, TN

ProsYou will receive a very basic healthcare experience.

ConsBe hided on technologies, do not offer compensation (bonuses, or raises) for meeting company goals. It's time for C-level management to step down, if the company wish to have longevity. There are little to non training opportunities.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in your employers. Provide necessary tools to perform task effectively.

ProsCompany provides you with health insurance with out anything out of your pocket.

ConsIt is very difficult to obtain a raise.
