Pros
Flexible, excellent resources, numerous opportunities.
Cons
Some units press productivity harder than others.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to employees.
Pros
flexible work hours, great boss, challenging projects, excellent comp, ever-changing atmosphere because of constant growth
Cons
strict adherence to 'no working from home' policy
Pros
I think one thing that is nice about Community Health Systems is that they give you great holiday and paid time off
Cons
I think one thing that Community Health Systems could improve on is their willingness to consider employees with less experience.
Advice to Senior Management
The work environment at Community Health Systems is great. I feel comfortable with the people who work there and I'm glad most people are easy to get along with.
Pros
Great benefits. People are great to work with. There is enough staff hired to do the job. the pace of work is good.
Cons
If you want to "make" a lot of money this is probably not going to satisfy you. This is a not for profit organization so bonus's are not what you see in the retail world.
Advice to Senior Management
I can not think of anything to tell management.
Pros
Great work & plenty of it; large organization; average/typical benefits; not concerned about lay-offs/decreasing head-count; highly visible Nashville company
Cons
-- Compensation
-- Demanding work (60+ hour weeks)
-- Top-heavy management
-- Weak middle-management
-- Poor communication
-- Poor recognition of high-performing employees
Advice to Senior Management
-- Improve leadership capabilities of middle management
-- Bonus package for high-performing employees
-- Recognize high-performing employees with an appropriate package
Pros
Job security (never had any lay offs and it's a stable industry)
Culture is good
Industry leader so there's comfort in that knowledge
Cons
When promoted or given more responsibilities, salary increases are not automatic, seems like you have to beg for it, and then you usually even don't get it then. Market adjustments are rare and pay grades are "anonymous" - which is not right.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to grade out each position. When your own HR dept tells you to leave the company and come back in order to be paid sufficiently, there's a problem.
Pros
a paycheck and nothing more
Cons
unstable employer.Layoffs to meet management bonuses
Pros
Benefit package was much better than most. People who do work there know their stuff and are incredible!
Cons
Not enough resources to get things done in a timely manner. High stress and not always high reward for coming through. More thought is given to shareholders and returns than to people. High turnover.
Advice to Senior Management
Providing people with what they need does affect the bottom line, but so does turnover. Sometimes what you spend in human capital can earn you higher profits for shareholders.
Pros
Stable company with good opportunity for management employees
Cons
Large company where non-management employees are under-valued for their efforts.
Advice to Senior Management
Share the wealth with non-management employees. Include all employees in your bonus plan.;
Pros
CHS is a large hospital corporation.
Cons
Micro management at all levels. It can be exhausting.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in IT or hire more people.
