    It's the only option in town

    Pros

    A lot of good people to work with below management levels.

    Cons

    Company cares more about its bottom line than it does patient outcomes.
    Benefits are below par. Employees are "cash cows"-must use benefits @ CHS facility.
    Low wages compared to other comparable facilities in the area
    High volume, short staffing -always!

    Advice to Management

    Improve pay and benefits to be more competitive and retain enough staff to give the patient
    a fighting chance of being discharged alive.

    Pros

    Wonderful staff to work with. Benefits are ok.

    Cons

    Does not pay well. Too much work on 1 person. Does not invest into their employees even though they are the backbone of the company.

    Advice to Management

    This advice to corporate pay your hard working and dedicated employees well then you shall see a difference in moral and your bottom line of collections. There are too many employees working hard and being ignored especially when they live pay check to pay check. CHS could be a wonderful company if they listen and take people's suggestions and comments into consideration

    Pros

    I get to meet so many nice people that come into the hospital. The people I work with are really amazing. They just great.

    Cons

    Some of the managers at Community are pretty horrible. Some are just stupid and some are so ghetto. Its just hard to believe they are managers at such a well-known hospital.

    Advice to Management

    find new managers

    Pros

    The company has good benefits.Wayne Smith has a good sense of business its his Management, Supervisors, Directors and upper team management that is running good people away from CHS. THEY do not appreciate their staff.

    Cons

    Management is unorganized and they lead you on for advancements the pay is not worth it. The work load is outrageous and they break policies for those they chose to give favor to and hire family members at higher salary. Over stressed work environment.

    Advice to Management

    Management should do less delegating and more hands on . Provide job shadowing programs for a better understanding of goals and growth direction for long time staff. Encourage more positive tram building exercises and give more concerns to staff that go above and beyond. Offer awards and incentives to good employees that have higher work ethics .

    Good co workers, work together to make run smoothly... Cover each others shifts to manage...

    Cons

    Doesn't take care of own nurses, ins is awful, very low pay for experience

    Pros

    Fast paced, interesting, involves critical thinking, keeps you sharp. God upper management support.

    Cons

    Turnover, staff often can't take the pace. When you get people in your clinic, do what you can to keep them interested and keep them from getting burnt out.

    Advice to Management

    Be available but don't micromanage your staff. Keep a good line of communication open with the providers.

    Pros

    Great co-workers and medical staff.

    Cons

    They pay nothing the lowest in the city and tri state area. Do not pay on an experienced based scale nor do they account for certifications or degrees. Sad but have a high turn over due to only salary. Current employee but looking to move on have been with them for a year and I'm tired of working hard for so much less pay than I'm use to for my level of experience and certifications.

    Advice to Management

    Incorporate shared governance and allow staff more say. However it won't matter if the pay is this horrible.
