    Pros

    Great students and amazing staff.

    Cons

Low pay, but realize it is a unit district.

    Pros

Some of the best teachers and students I've ever worked with. Most people are supportive and willing to help one another. Educators put students first.

    Cons

I often felt disrespected by administrators and wished there was less politics. Teachers understand what is going on in the classroom and should be consulted with before implementing new strategies.

    Pros

Team playing teachers, newer school, supportive teammates.

    Cons

The administration was not very supportive of the teachers and situations within the building. Special Ed students shouldn't have to be shifted from room to room, taught in hallways, stairwells, closets, etc. Admin shouldn't seem to be so removed from the classroom experience that they don't know what is going on, what is really going on in their schools and should support teachers with discipline, grading, etc.

  7. Wrongful termination to cover up administration politics

    Pros

I was an art teacher for the high school and they have phenomenal art teachers and a fantastic art program. The community of teachers is great and most of the administration was incredibly supportive.

    Cons

The administration has changed significantly and it is a very political environment. The teacher's union has made certain exception deals with administration that are not documented in the contracts and you can have your contract terminated over something you had no previous knowledge.

    Advice to Management

listen to your teachers and student body and don't play office politics at the expense of young teacher's careers.

    Pros

The staff are all pretty nice. The administrative staff are all great. They may not support you all the way or give you the answers you need, but they are very nice.
I enjoyed the students and the staff.

    Cons

The staff is not representative of the community. You can look through all the administration staff and they are all Caucasian. I hate that! If I were a minority, I would not want to work in the school district unless you're a service worker.

    Advice to Management

Please hire staff that represent the parents and students.

    Pros

Most employees try their hardest to do good work for the students.
Most employees are willing to help whenever needed.

    Cons

    Politics, politics, politics.
    Very top-down organization.
Get in line, or get out approach to implementing new ideas.
Different groups of employees are continually treated differently.
Administration thinks that just because they can dream something up means that it is possible, and easy to make reality.

    Advice to Management

Allow and encourage employees to provide input when considering new initiatives, then incorporate that input into the development of new ideas.
