    Pros

Are a market leader in Help Desk and Desk Top outsourcing. Good business growth in their chosen area.

    Cons

With just Help Desk and Desk Top the company is limited in their ability to grow as an outsourcer. The company is owned by outside investors determined to see a profit. The company seems to spend a lot of time and effort to make sure that none of the "little people", help desk agents, desk top support tech's, get an extra nickel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider broadening your market offerings. Help desk has become a commodity, every one know how to do it well enough. Build loyalty with the pick and shovel work force by creating career paths from those entry level positions.

    Pros

My tenure with CompuCom started strong, but after a couple of years, meh.
The benefits were actually ok. Many valuable discounts with various vendors and the health savings account is a brilliant way to pay for healthcare if you're relatively healthy like most people are.

    Cons

Negotiate your best salary upfront because you'll be stuck with it for a long time.
It was not unusual for people...particularly minorities...to be subjected to a hostile work environment.
Unless you're a brown nosing pet pig, management can be very difficult for no reason.
The organization was very flat. Additionally, there was no opportunity for training, development, or personal growth.

    Pros

As my title suggests - this is the place that you can use to launch your career.
This is a good place to start your career for the sake of gaining experience.
Depending on where you are working , you will be exposed to multiple clients hence really expanding your exposure.
Also excellent in certification growth - they pay 100% for major vendor exams.

    Cons

I believe we are under industry standard compensation.
    Poor incentive for growth within.
I know people who have accepted title promotions but no increased pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you really want to keep a decent name in terms of pay - please don't let your experts leave.
Pay them well and this will keep our customers happy for a higher retention and longevity.......otherwise you keep losing good talent every-time due to underpaying us.

    Pros

They do have a good work life balance and it is a pretty laid back atmosphere. You can pretty much set your own schedule as long as you work eight hours a day. Pretty normal benefits.

    Cons

Very hierarchical, it seems that everybody has a manager title and some of them you can actually hear yelling at their employees! I felt like I was in the twilight zone. PTO went down from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. There's a waiting period of 2-3 years to become vested in the 401k. No potential for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time for a change, you're cracking at the foundation.

    Pros

My coworkers were nice and easy to get along with...most of them at least. It's a great place for entry-level technicians to learn about the support world when starting out. Very easy mindless work. If you have a laid back manager you can spend your time studying to advance your career. I learned Python in the few months I worked there between calls.

    Cons

So unbelievably boring; This was real-life office space. I saw employee desks there with 15 year employee awards and they were still support techs, level 1 no less. There is not going to be any advancement in this company if you hire on as a support tech unless you are tenacious about getting moved up. Even then it takes at least five years from what I could tell and you will not get any further than team lead, there's just no way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None, you're doing fine and you're doing what you're supposed to be doing, there's nothing you can do differently, the company would have to change its entire method of operation, foundation, structure, etc for things to be any different.

Former Employee - Operations Manager in Dallas, TX

    Pros

Solid all around. Good benefits. Smart management. Lots of entry level opportunities in IT. Helpdesk, Deskside support, Network administration.

    Cons

Few opportunities to move within the company. The company 401K matching is almost non existent. They dropped almost all forms of receiving bonuses and raises. Hard to promote yourself up the ranks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication when it comes to new accounts and opportunities within the company to assist in promoting from within.

    Pros

Good work environment. Close to home and will pay for cert's and education reimbursement. Great PTO package. Start in the door earning 3wks/ yr.

    Cons

Forget about a raise. Contractor model means they have to bid low to get the contract. That means they can't pay anything, and wage freezes, (currently going on 3 years) and 401K matches are low if not cancelled. Will ask you to take job promotion, but no pay increase.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

PAY your good people or they are going to leave.
