I have been working at CompuCom full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I was a part of the Walmart team. Until Walmart pulled out of the contract I was let go.
I love the position I had pay was fair. The manager knew what he was doing.

    Cons

Wish I could have been moved to another contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a backup plan for all the new techs incase you lose the contract.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Tests for certifications will be paid for and there are some online training modules for some exams. It is a good place to get in the IT door and to get some experience on your resume.

    Cons

No merit raises. I have worked here for almost 10 years and can only remember 1 time when merit raises were given. I have gotten promotions to advance my career and pay scale but as a net have been left behind others with the same skill sets and experience because they only promote to the bottom of the pay scale for a certain position and then never give raises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your people work hard for you, show some appreciation. Having news letters where you say you appreciate the hard work is nice, but after years of being told that with no pay increase for it, even cost of living increases, it gets old.

I worked at CompuCom full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Many contract job opportunities. A lot of good people working here.

    Cons

Not sure if it was the economy, but only got a 20 cent raise in almost 4 years along with all the other techs so it wasn't just me. Seen others make this same criticism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Once the word spreads enough, no one will want to work at CompuCom when other employers pay more.

I worked at CompuCom full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It was a nice entry-level systems administration position which allowed me to get a lot of expose and grow.

    Cons

Very little leadership. Very high turn-over rate. The moral of the company isn't great. Many promises have been made bet never kept so that I would take another position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More frequent raise, encouragement/reward for technical classes/certifications etc.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Relaxed, casual environment. Can easily adjust to schedule.

    Cons

HR takes forever to make people permanent, averaging around 1 - 4 years. When you are hired, they promise you will be permanent within 3 - 6 months. Pay is way lower than the average work positions. They poorly estimate the cost and scope of handling major projects. You will keep getting promises that never pull through.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you make a clean-cut, fool proof training system, you'll be far more likely to succeed with the Wal-mart project. For years you have just thrown people into a desk and expect them to learn from scratch, that its no wonder the projects lose so much money. Communicate to your team, and engage with them daily! Being in the office all day and only looking at phone statistics instead of actually seeing what's going on is a poor way to manage your team.

    Cons

they cut 7 people from our account, added more thing we do for our client and continually harass us to do more and more, this is a very bad company, my managers have no idea how to manage anything, they were hired because they were cheap not for talent.
