    Pros

Professional, clean working environment. Great enthusiasm among colleagues. Congenial place to work and to learn. The CEO of the company had an open door policy to which all employees had access.

    Cons

There are limited "cons" to working at Computer Generated Services. Perhaps one would be that there were limited spaces, especially offices for those who perhaps would require it.

    Advice to Management

None. CGS, Inc., is a fast growing company and would no doubt continue to that direction.

    Pros

You get a salary if you are unemployed.

    Cons

No bonus, no work life balance, CEO believes in keeping people motivated by constantly threatening their jobs, defeatist attitude by everyone in corporate, ridiculously short on people resources, expectation to work 50 hr a week minimally, public humiliation by CEO (seriously), everyone is just going through the motions, no innovation allowed, this company hasn't grown a dollar in value in over 15 years, 50% turnover in corporate.

    Advice to Management

Get out if you can while you can still think for yourself.

    Pros

Colleagues were nice, decent people trying to survive and avoid the revolving door atmosphere created by a tyrantical CEO.

    Cons

Poor pay, lousy management, work environment that belongs in the Cold war era in Russia. Even when you are on target, they lay you off because is newer is better - easier to push around and get your contacts in the first six months then dispose of you.

    Advice to Management

Retire your CEO, get some positive leadership and stop putting up false and misleading reviews just because he tells you you must.

    Pros

Turnover so high, there are always jobs to be had if you are homeless or totally desperate.

    Cons

Technical sweat shop mentality. If clients only knew how thin support resources are, they would cringe and drop support. No one in senior management cares anything about anyone else except keeping their jobs and telling the CEO as little as possible so he doesn't crucify them. Expectation of working 50 to 60+ hours a week is the norm. Policies stink. You have to work your butt off before you get a day of vacation. If you're not at your desk you're considered not working or goofing off. If there is no way to commute into the office on snow days due to mass transit being down, you're not allowed to work from home, you have to take a vacation day as long as the CEO can be driven to the office by his personal chauffeur. Other policies reminiscent of the 1050's.

    Advice to Management

Nothing you do will save you from the wrath of the CEO anyway.

    Pros

Realistically, there are no good reasons to work here.

    Cons

The managers here are weak and spineless and have sold their conscience and soul over to the CEO, who micro- manages almost everything. The managers in the Finance department are particularly weak, malicious , and hypocritical. All the mangers are ever so fearful of Phil that they literally tremble in front of him. What a culture!!

    Advice to Management

Recognize that it is the efforts of people that grow a company. Treat your people with respect and dignity and stop being so arrogant and proud.

    Pros

They have a great location in the Financial District of NYC

    Cons

No collaboration and lots of pressure. The technical support staff is literally stuffed into 1 big room with no windows and poor ventilation. Since they have a large call center, benefits are poor and geared toward the high turnover at the call centers, which means no health insurance for your first year of employment.

    Pros

There are no positives to working here in any capacity. Regardless of level or position. If you are serious about a career, this is not the place to be.

    Cons

The worst career decision ever made. Being homeless is a better option and a step up. It continues to be a horror.

    Advice to Management

Continue look for buyers to sell the company. CEO should retire, no vision, past his prime, dictator. This coupled with having to deal with CEO's family on payroll only adds to the misery.

    Pros

Call center had a laid back environment with a very friendly staff. Promoted 3 or 4 times while there for 3 years.

    Cons

Always asked to come in early and stay late, hours are not the best. Required overnight shift once a week.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

I can't imagine a better organization to work for in terms of career progression. As an industry leader in multiple verticals, CGS brings in some of the best talent and subject matter experts relevant to your career path no matter how niche your background is.
I can't tell if it was the company's vision or if it's how the culture evolved, but few managers are "set in their way(s)" and leave the door open to new ideas as long as the results are there. Hiring decisions are based on what the company believes you're capable of doing, not whether or not you can fill someone else's shoes. This goes a long way in avoiding micromanagement.

    Cons

Sometimes CGS can feel like 5 or 6 different companies working in the same office, mostly because of their vast portfolio of products/services. Each division could be it's own self sustaining company really, so there's few opportunities to interact with people outside your focus area.

    Pros

Company values, teamwork, and exposure to multiple industries. Ability to be proactive.

    Cons

Health Benefits really need to be revamped when compared to other industries.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees and understand their point of view.
