I worked at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I work well with the team that I supported for eight years. I enjoyed the environment they help me pay for my schooling and I was promoted several times.

    Cons

When they decided to downsize due to budget cuts in 2010 I got only one day notice to get all of my belongings and leave the facility. I think that was unfair treatment after eight years of service with CSC.

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Friendly environment
     - Facilities weren't bad
     - Benefits were okay, could've been better
     - Good place to start out before doing bigger and better or if you don't require huge salaries

    Cons

    - Younger, competent workers are not mentored, coached or trained into better workers.
     - With the latest re-structuring, uncertain as to what future work will look like
     - Once your contract runs out, if you haven't found anything good luck
     - Management has been a confusing word

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Instead of entry level college grads, a wise approach would be to take your existing workers and calibrate them to the type of work you anticipate and expect.
     - Pay your employees better
     - Fix your employee evaluation system.
     - Communicate guidance to your subordinates better
     - Improve workforce development.

    Pros

    Medium/Large company provide growth opportunities

    Cons

Management needs to be consistent with the company's mission statement my experience with CSC constantly showed management disconnect with the company's mission statement.
Experiences varies based on your manager I had 5 managers during my tenure

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CSC need to provide an open door policy for employees to discuss issues at the job sites they are contracting at.

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp

    Pros

The best reasons to work for computer sciences is that they are a great company, you can advance a lot in the company, they pay great, a lot of great people work with csc and they are really great about getting an education while you work. They have always worked well with my school schedule and they make sure people are placed where they are needed.

    Cons

There are really not a lot of downsides, except that most of the work we receive are contract based so there can be times when there are not many contracts or we lose a contract, then work will become slow or you will have to be moved to another contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should keep on doing what they do and continue to strive to make this one of the best companies ever to work for.
