I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp

    Pros

Many opportunities to explore other roles in own group and other groups.

    Cons

Too many layers of manage who took an "ivory tower" approach to dealing with contributing lower level employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I believe the 17 layers of management have been collapsed to six, but the heart and soul of the company has been gutted.

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The advantage to working here for me was, it was close to home (literally 5 minutes with traffic), and they had great tuition reimbursement(if your going for an undergraduate, you don't have to wait a certain amount of time before leaving after being paid, and if you are going for a graduates on up you only have to wait 1 year) and employee discounts

    Cons

The management I worked with was unqualified for the positions, and only got their positions because their spouse was a director of another department, and because their aunt or "God Mother" got them in. That is no way at all to be successful, and probably why in the two years I was there they lost two major contracts. Trying to explain how things were suppose to be done from a QA standpoint was a constant headache, to which I gave up and found another job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you ask employees advice, sincerely listen to it. Test your upper management's department knowledge regularly, and don't allow for relatives and spouses to promote or hire their own.

    Pros

The pay is decent and its a good place to learn skills to support large business applications.

    Cons

They have been attempting to reduce expenses by systematically scaling back as many existing benefits as possible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sending signals to employees that they are not valued by leadership can significantly impact the quality and efficiency of both output and of the employees that stick around.
