    Pros

Great opportunity to move up, good pay, interesting projects and lots of connections in government, cutting edge technologies, good benefits

    Cons

high pressure, lots of shifting projects, long hours, no telecommute option, management too driven, no bonus', management unapproachable, bottom line focused.

    Advice to Management

focus on innovation rather than survival, develop a corporate culture of our work matters, be thought leaders in your area as opposed to just winning contracts, look out for customer's best interest rather than corporate success.

    Pros

Great people unless they are in fear of their own job

    Cons

No loyalty at all. Only interested in offshoring roles

    Advice to Management

Value experience. Before you blindly lay people off you might be surprised to find many people will help a company survive by taking a pay cut for the right reasons but generally not for greedy execs.

    Pros

Team members work well together. Good atmosphere to work in within department. Local management works well with team members.

    Cons

NO raises for second year in a row as senior management cashes out millions in stocks over $24 million so far this year by my account for only 5 SMs I looked up. How they can cash in on one hand and take away with the other while still being able to sleep at night....................

    Advice to Management

Put your employees first, find ways to show they are appreciated and not just pawns for your own cash machine.

    Pros

It's a job that is somewhat reliable considering the current state of the economy. They support education advancement

    Cons

Too much middle management. Lack of fair compensation. Zero loyalty from the company to the employee. As a lead technician on a US Army training device (simulator), I was told that if the customers (soldiers) want me to wear a clown costume and serve ice cream out of my trainer while in the desert, that I better damn well do it.

    Advice to Management

Better define our roles, do not have technicians do material logistics. Better training programs for our positions, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, treat your employees with respect.

    Pros

Opportunity to stay abreast of changes in environment as well as excellent professional certification.

    Cons

Salaries are not competitive, job placement within organization is dependent solely on individual, does not foster any type of workplace environment/gratification.

    Advice to Management

Should be more in tune with the employee, listen to input from managers with regards to compensation increase and/or promotion, foster some type of environment for employee groeth

    Pros

Most of your co-workers are genuinely good people.
The pay is (was at least when I was hired) better than other places.

    Cons

The driving principal at the company seems to be CYA. people who take responsibly don't seem to stay long term.
Management seems incapable of decision making; the decision always comes from another department or somebody higher up in some other building.
Human Resources? that's an 800 number for you to call during normal business hours.
They seem to feel that requiring 5-10 hours of overtime every week from the entire team (of about 20 people on my team) equates to not only adequately staffed but time for a Reduction in Workforce, Apparently there wasn't enough work for us even though we were constantly being required to work 'extra.'

    Advice to Management

Focus on running a successful business, rather than the stock prices.
Those people who never accomplish anything but can always find somebody else to blame when things are messed up? focus on the first part, why are they still there if they never accomplish anything.

    Pros

Close to home, offers benefits, and a decent wage for the area.

    Cons

Too much middle management. Pay tops out pretty low. Unrealistic opportunities for bonus pay. Constantly required to use or lose paid time off.

    Advice to Management

Incentives work wonders for employee morale. Cutting back on team building and bonding days wouldn't be a bad thing.

    Pros

Great people doing the actual work from day to day. Very interesting projects to work on with great opportunities to travel.

    Cons

Cut many of the benefits over the past few years to the point where there are none. Management does not understand what the consulting group does and it shows in their policies.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with the real needs of your employees and stop cutting them off at the knees.
