was great to work with Covansys. When CSC acquired the company things were no more that great.

    Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Santa Clara, CA

ProsGood clientele and manages to get challenging projects. Supportive HR and Legal department, who takes care of requests even after leaving the company.

ConsHorrible pay structure, especially if you are on short term onsite assignments.

    Good place to work

    Technical Support Specialist (Former Employee)
    Santa Clara, CA

ProsOne of the best reasons that are good about CSC is that we were allowed or work from home. The CSC people I interacted with were supportive of each other.

ConsContract work. When the contract ended it is up to the employee to find another job within CSC during a certain time frame. If you are unable to find another job...get hired...then CSC lets you go.

Pure Service Model - No Ownership

Project Management Principal Leader (Former Employee)
    San Jose, CA

    Pros- Salary always on time

Cons- Non-Employee friendly managers and HR
    - Pure Service company mentality. Wont care if you die in client place - as long as you submit your timesheet.

Advice to Senior Management- Talk to your employees in client place.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Dreary employer, they exist to get paid for my work

    Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    San Jose, CA

ProsThey can provide a paycheck and some benefits.

ConsNo loyalty to employees whatsoever, from my perspective they are just a giant pimping organization; they get paid for the contracts that I work on and are not concerned with what I do. Aside from the usual benefits that any large technical company will provide you get nothing. No perqs.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat employees as a valuable asset. Pay for additional education (not just for people in a degree program). Give more vacation time. Spend a little money on perqs. Act like a 21st century Silicon Valley company, not like a stodgy old white collar job shop.

    CTO

    Chief Architect (Current Employee)
    San Jose, CA

ProsLarge organization, Lots of different opportunities. Currently going under restructuring on the commericial side of the house. New CEO is trying to remove $1 Billion out of the bottomline.

ConsNew processes are being developed based on all the different management change. Groups across CSC don't work well together because of how the revenue sharing is done.

Advice to Senior ManagementFix it so it is easy that groups support one another.
