    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, laid back if you are on a contract.

    Cons

Don't work here if you are expecting an annual raise. The company changed the policy to a bell curve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp

    Pros

Good people, many worked in the company for years and watched the company change quite dramatically in recent years. Overall, a very fast paced work environment, can be challenging and very interesting.

    Cons

Over the last several years the company has been going through a continuous reorganization while trying to change its strategy and improve financial performance. As a result. its turning into a revolving door environment with top level management being replaced every 9-12 months. This is very demoralizing for employees, as nobody feels safe or really appreciated - anybody can be laid off at any time, regardless of their actual merits and performance. Communication across organization is very week and the strategy seems to change all the time. Good performers are looking to leave and many do, before yet another round of "reorganization". This puts more and more burden to do more with less on the remaining workforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do a better job of communicating with employees, there is an urgent need to boost morale across the company. Don't just tell them that they are your main asset. In order to start growing again, you need to stabilize the company, set the strategy and then stick to it and deliver before making yet another change. Mgmt has not only an obligation to show positive results to the Wall Street, but to its employees first who actually make the achievement of those results possible.

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Very experienced delivery consultants
    Responsive and collaborative contributors

    Cons

Malaise by remaining people who feel like survivors of substantial downsizing and cost cutting at expense of employees. Little to no bench to support new services or sales. No sales discipline to qualify opportunities. Sales organization is constant revolving door including leadership who are saddled with unrealistic quotas create bad behavior. No communication by executive leadership pertaining to the future. Continuous reduction in quarterly revenue is coupled with culture of ongoing personnel reduction. No focus on revenue growth or creating a sales culture. Remaining personnel must wear lots of hats to keep company afloat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest about the future of the company and complete the re-sizing of the company to fit the service lines that will remain in operation by CSC or will be sold and pay retention bonuses. Show gratitude to people who have remained and continue to help the company keep what revenue remains and fill gaps of layoffs involving critical functions. Invest strategically in clients to retain business and alleviate their concerns about the company being sold or service lines being shut down.

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent work from home options, warm colleagues and atmosphere

    Cons

Not much professional development, especially now with a bell-curve evaluation structure, and overly defined job requirements. Also, on-boarding and off-boarding are lame.

    Pros

Many opportunities to explore other roles in own group and other groups.

    Cons

Too many layers of manage who took an "ivory tower" approach to dealing with contributing lower level employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I believe the 17 layers of management have been collapsed to six, but the heart and soul of the company has been gutted.

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    o Challenging Work Environment
o Challenging Customer and Prospect Requirements
    o Good Public Sector Business
o Good Banking, Finance & Insurance Business
o Good Installed Base of existing customers
o On paper, Re-Invention of CSC looks very good
o Rumors of attempts to entice Venture Capital Firms to buy CSC
    o Coworkers are great people

    Cons

o Executive Inner Circle is successfully fooling CSC's Investment Community into believing that CSC's growth is coming from business growth.
o Business growth is being accomplished via cost containment & reductions along with scavenging Incentives earned by hard working sales resources.
o 2014 Compensation Agreements were crafted in 2013 to give CSC latitude in 2014 forward to avoid paying Incentives. Read your compensation plan, Every Word! Additionally, your quota after hire may become 20% greater than that discussed before hire.
o Un-Announced Short Notice Reduction in Force actions being taken on large scale. Experienced loyal resources being released.
o Experienced Human Capital is resigning on an alarming scale who deliver offerings that Executive Inner Circle is promoting to be key in reinventing CSC.
o HPers are being selectively hired into Executive Management roles thus duplicating HP's Services Business Models.
o Employees under Salary + Incentive plans are not being paid properly. Claw backs and RIFs are being executed before Incentives are paid.
o In 2013, 20% of salary customer satisfaction incentive was held back from employees by CSC and applied to CSC's bottom line.
o In 2014, 10% of salary customer satisfaction incentive will be retained by CSC. This has occurred repeatedly.
o Consulting Organization has been relived of large numbers of experienced resources.
o Applications Organization has been relieved of experience resources.
o ERP Practices have been relieved of experienced resources.
o American Management Leadership has been selectively replaced by Indian Leadership who have signed up for Quotas Executive Inner Circle Management dictate in order to be promoted.
o CSC Stock Price Appreciation has been attained via Cost Cuts not growth.
o Rumors of attempts to entice Venture Capital Firms to buy CSC. VCs do not know what they are being sold.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

o Change compensation plans of Executives to focus on growth
o Expose Cost Cutting Activities transparently to CSC's Investment Community and employees
o Change Executive Inner Circle Management
o Discontinue hiring management influenced by HP Services Business Models
o Claw back 80% of CEO's stock option money and pay Incentives to employees
    o Demonstrate loyalty to employees

    Pros

Certain groups do very good work and have terrific people and environments

    Cons

The company culture has a lot of growing room and due to the struggles in the federal sector the company has been going through major restructuring, resulting in a loss of identity and a loss of benefits
