    Pros

Can't think of any pros except for the coffee selection.

    Cons

Generic job postings make jobs misleading. Management will not stand up for you if you even know who your manager is at all. Undeifined job..no proper training....not sure I will ever know what this job is supposed to entail. Mickey mouse environment. No privacy - No ability to be a professional which means incorporating things you need to do for yourself during the day without having to ASK to do it. Miserable morale...no one appears happy. No socialism. Ridiculous requirements making no sense whatsoever as it relates to the job. Technology a constant problem decreasing productivity. No opportunity here. Body shop...you're a number. You will never make a meaningful contribution here with these managers unless you are an executive. No raises for the worker bees which they do not inform you of when they offer a starting salary.

    Advice to Management

I'm not sure this company can be turned around.

    Pros

Salaries are generally ok for U.S. employees. Other consultants are good workers when American. Offshore Development Team is awful, right out of college and know nothing. The H1Bs and other foreign workers are paid very low and are good, but they struggle living 10 per 1bedroom apartment.

    Cons

Consultant are expected to stay in the worst hotels to save money. Don't expect your bonus EVER. Expenses are scrutinized by some offshore team and you have to fight to even get you expenses approved if you don't eat a $5 taco bell meal. What's the worst, CSC sends out email about consultant safety and how they care about you, but then you are required to stay in awful hotel with beggars and panhandlers at the entrance. Don't trust anything they say. They play with the numbers so they never have to pay a bonus.

    Advice to Management

Treat the people who actually make the company money better or you will never sell this company. Fire the HR Lady who took away a week of our vacation. Try to do better by your employees or you won't have a company to sell.

    Pros

Work from home potential, my immediate bosses have been good to work for.

    Cons

Lots of change currently, lack of synergy between all parts of the business, not a lot of room for growth, hard to get a promotion that includes a salary increase.

    Pros

Some of the management is very good, and a lot of the people who actually do the work are very good as well.

    Cons

Everything else. Seriously, this company is a joke in regards to respect, expectations, incentivization, and work/life balance. I have consistently been rated the highest rating year after year, been constantly promoted way beyond my age range. However, each small raise is fought for tooth and nail and mostly through politics (most of my colleagues have had ZERO raises in 4 years). How do they award an overachiever with top ratings year after year? 2% raise. You are expected to work 80 hr min weeks with zero appreciation either in words or salary. If you own stock or are in Business Development, Executive Management, or Sales, then this company is for you (as they actually respect those positions). Anything else? Expect to be used, abused, and burnt out, at which point they will just bring in someone else (if you quit) and do the same thing to them.

    Advice to Management

You can only push people so far. Penny wise and pound foolish will drain you of all of your talent in every other department besides sales. You will be left with demoralized, depressed employees which will result in a dissatisfied client or a degraded product. Why should employees stay when they can get paid more for less elsewhere, with the bonus of being treated like a real human being? Again, this is not from someone who failed out of the company, but from someone who has constantly succeeded at this company.

    Pros

Work from home, many smart individuals, work with co-workers from all around the world, Mike L. is trying to turn the company around and seems to have made progress.

    Cons

Matrix organization (although fairly standard for this industry and company size), flat organization - not a lot of room for advancement, so many new leaders at top 2-3 layers of the org that are trying to prove themselves resulting in conflicting priorities, some team duplication = rounds of layoffs, benefits have gotten worse. HR policies are short-sided and have gotten worse.

    Advice to Management

Keep improving opportunities for career advancement, continue to improve on transparency. Company culture has suffered from recent RIFs, consolidatiions - the perception is there is that leadership has a short-term view and culture/employees are not worth investing in.

    Pros

For many of the roles inside the company you can work from home or remotely. This was a place where a lot of talent incubated.

    Cons

Pay is too low Bonuses only exist for CEO,CFO, and few executives. Raises are frequently cancelled Work life balance is brutal

    Advice to Management

Stop treating employees like a part of the business you don't want

    Pros

It is work in your field so you gain experience and time in grade. You will learn how to work under pressure in adverse conditions.

    Cons

At some consulting firms managements purpose is to market the employees expertise to clients who have a similar need. CSC's current management wants to turn everything into widgets, products for sale. They see employees as a cost not as a resource.

    Advice to Management

Sell this company as soon as possible, before you finish the demolition of the company's knowledge base. Sell it now while it is still a knowledge company.

    Pros

Comments related to long tenured experience in US and Commercial (GIS) sector. Having seen several changes in 10+ years, this recent change is not positive since 2012. Do your research and I would advise my personal friends to look elsewhere or approach with your eyes open. I have waited several weeks past my reduction/job elimination to write this with facts and honest not emotion filled response. - Ability to work remote - Individual relationships, were still few good people left doing nothing but best job possible - Some new technology and services, some positive global name recognition

    Cons

    - Remote work inconsistently applied within teams - Reductions and moving work offshore are now removing many strong, knowledgeable people in US with no consideration for job transfers - Posting of jobs which were just reduced, only change US location (ethical?!) Unfortunately the cost of legal pursuit in US out weighed benefit. - Mandatory use of vacation at specific dates, must use vacation time and borrow from future if don’t have any left. Promises of one time event, but continued over many years - Drastic changes and elimination of benefits – pension eliminated, 401k continued changes, health care to an exchange so no different than government marketplace - Berating ,which bordered on bullying directly to finance individuals for the business to improve profit. Not leadership or challenge, but very negative from so called executives. I had worked in several companies shutting down/poor business environments, but nothing like this. - 8 of 10 reviews here from current and former employee sorted by “finance” title “does not recommend”….that should be clear advisory if you are considering joining finance team. Be sure you are aware, no one will look out for you. Document and cover your actions / requests / issues. - Research >> ethics/ business practices / overall situation of company: SEC / CSC/ UK National Health Service $190M (June2015), Delays/performance issues NCTracks (April 2015), CSC switch private health exchange and gets sued (April 2015), Will CSC Agressive Cost Cuts Help in the Long Run (Market Realist March 2015) , Bribery/Servicemesh/Australia (Feb2015), CSC sue IBM poaching employees (Jan 2013), CSC / Bell Curve (April 2014 Washington Bizjournal & writer Jill Aitoro), CSC Chief Human Resource has Resigned (Washington Bizjournal May 2015,) along with prior CHR and Controller changes. How CSC Drove out much of workforce on purpose (Washington Bizjournal July 4, 2014) Once proud to work hard, rarely easy, but no longer that same ethical company.

    Advice to Management

Can not cut cost to any sustained profitability, business basics!!.. Growth thru new business – new clients, new products. Employees are not just disposable expenses in outsourcing, but treated that way in US by this company. Value your employee – new and tenured. Ethics, Ethics and Ethics.

    Pros

easy to park and company wide variety of coffee choices.

    Cons

    1. Manager can do work at home, but employee can't. 2. Never increase the salary no dime for 5 years but managers are increased $$$$ each year. 3. Manager's mood up and down very often. 4. Sometimes work until midnight, but no dinner/no light food. 5. Management won't listen to employee.

    Advice to Management

This company only take care about only management. An important to positive management is the relationship between the manager and his or her employee. It’s the manner in which manager manage staffs that separate the everyday from the good and the exceptional.
