I worked at Compuware full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Their APM product line is a market leader. co-workers are nice/good to work with

    Cons

No career planing. All talk no action, Not employee oriented. treat like a body rather then asset. a slow sinking ship.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

management only cares for themselves. IE while the CEO gave himself an assured 2 year severance if he was let go. he offered some employes just 2 weeks for 10 years service. Maybe treating employees like human beings may stop the downward spiral of the company

I worked at Compuware full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

One of the best companies I worked in my 39 year career. The company recognizes and rewards positive contribution. Compensation and benefits are very competitive.Offers growth opportunity around the globe. The people at Compuware is what makes this company a great place to work. Senior management is very accessible, involved and very supportive of this job initiatives.

    Cons

Tends to be a bit central focused around its HQ in Detroit. However this is changing and looks promissing. There are not that many cons that I can think of

I worked at Compuware full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Salary, People knowledgeable, if you are in the APM market place that is where they are spending all their money/energy

    Cons

if you are not in the APM market then 'forget about it', The company is running without a rudder. Upper management care more about their compensation. Trying to leverage the buyout that is coming so they can get the most money for themselves

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about the employees. The rest will follow.
You have laid off some of the best people without regard.
And if you really care about the employees as you claim, why not provide job placement to those that you laid off. (Actions speak louder then words)

    I worked at Compuware

    Pros

They respect employees. When I got in, they paid me a couple grants more than I asked for the salary.

    Cons

As a normal consulting company, when the client ends the contract and no new contract comes in, you maybe get layoff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everything is fine. As long as you could find more contracts, especially from the local government, that will be great.

I have been working at Compuware

    Pros

The compuware division I worked at has good culture, management and employees are nice and corporate with each other, most people work hard; and good performance is recognized and appreciated. It's very comfortable working here if you are not an ambitious people.

    Cons

The division is small, there a very limited room if you want to move on in your career; management positions are fill up and never vacated, people who left the company are not managers or leaders, they are seeking more improvement in their career. The knowledge gained from work is not generic enough to be competitive in the job market. Company do not provide or sponsor any training opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should consider expanding the company, creating more opportunities.
