Pros
Career orientated, professional growth opportunitues, location, exposure to different business areas, Compuware people and culture, builidng amenities,
Cons
Time off for paid Holidays could be better. Vacation time changes at 5 years and stays at 3 weeks indefinitely. It would be nice to add on a couple of days after 10 years or more of service.
Pros
Great people; tremendous benefits; talented management and clearly articulated strategy.
Cons
Not many - if the company could grow faster, it would create more opportunities for all.
Pros
The culture of company is one that cares about its employees and their families.
No matter what level you are in the company, people are always will to treat you as if you are top priority.
I feel everyone at Compuware truly cares about the future of the business and will work together to make us the best in our industry.
I also feel that our leadership is always doing whatever they can to make our future stronger at Compuware.
Cons
I feel that we can become more compettitive in regards to our benefits. i.e. vacation package
We could also look at other financial incentives to encourage more 401k participation.
Advice to Senior Management
Utilize some of our most talented leaders and showcase their talents. Invite these talented leaders to mentor new management as they enter our organization. We have many talented leaders within Compuware and I feel they can make a difference in how we develop and educate our teams.
Pros
If you do your job well you are rewarded. Salaries are extremely competitive.
Cons
No support for continued education -- tuition reimbursement would be nice.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in your employees -- continued education can keep your work force at the top of its game.
Pros
Pay was fair, bonuses were also good. Working at HQ provided visibility to some things that the remote offices did not have, and there were perks to working at Corporate (such as Cafeteria, Workout facility, onsite day care)
Cons
Management frequently did not share vision with employees. Quick to develop and launch new initiatives, and just as quick to turn around and kill them. Often, this was without sufficient time to allow them to take hold in the organization and begin to develop and mature.
Advice to Senior Management
Tell your employees what is going on. Be thoughtful regarding launching of new initiatives or campaigns, or restructuring, and allow sufficient time to gather feedback and make corrections before killing something and going in a different direction.
Pros
Wellness Center, Child Development Center, other on-site amenities. The other employees at Compuware make coming into work each day enjoyable.
Cons
Communication from Management is lacking. The company vision and objectives may be set at the highest levels but are not communicated to the employees and the strategy to reach the objectives is not made clear.
Advice to Senior Management
A clear strategy on how you see the company reaching the goals and objectives you have set would be a great way to move us in the right direction.
Pros
New management team in place now seems to have our interests in mind. Plenty of potential to make money in commission. Plenty of training and resources are available. Good commission plan to compensate for below market base.
Cons
No college reimbursement - 2 weeks vacation. Could be more competitive in base salary, but makes up for it in the commission plan. Seems that the new mid-level management team does not have ability to make decisions regarding day to day business items, without checking with a senior management. could be a long ramp for some who are not hungry and only log in an 8 hour day.
Advice to Senior Management
Review current market conditions and adjust salaries before you lose more sales people. Continue to create and promote a positive work environment.
Pros
Pay is accurate and timely, great positive workplace environment, supervisors try their best to accomadate the needs of its employees
Cons
If you are not a workaholic or are someone who tends to lose focus on the task at hand then this may not be the most ideal place for you to work
Advice to Senior Management
Overall there is really nothing negative about that I can say about the company, you are always going to have those that are disgruntled
Pros
Compensation
Flexible hours
Some very good co-workers
Cons
Very old school mentality. Too much favoritism. Too many good people were let go and replaced with unprofessional no nothings. There is no work life balance, be prepared to work day, night and weekends. I have been gainfully employed for 35 years and this is by far the worst company I have ever worked for. Thank God I got out alive!
Advice to Senior Management
The account that I was assigned to needs to completely overhaul the mangement team.
Pros
Overall vision is very strong and have developed and/or acquired the right foundation to make the vision a reality.
Cons
There are too many people involved in every aspect of getting anything done. Instead of hiring one component employee, they tend to hire 5 mediocre employees to do the same job. This makes it very frustrating to get anything done in a timely manner. Travel policies are the worst of any organization I have even worked. The internal "grind" to deal with policies and procedures is putting many good employees over the edge.
Advice to Senior Management
Sr. level management may have solid business skills, but have no leadership skills. Consider some changes. There is very little value shown to current employees (avg salary 20% less then market). While everyone can be replaced, there is a lot of talent that has walked out which will take years to replace their depth of knowledge. The current culture of this organization will not draw top talent.
