Pros
Great place to work had alot of amenities to balance work/family and social life in house gym cafe laundry and a few shops...
Cons
The are isnt all that great especially since moving from farmington but it isnt all that bad either quite a few bums will harrass you every now and then, but other than that I think the direction the company is going in is good.
Advice to Senior Management
I didnt like the the way things happened when they gave the former mayor of detroit a position down in dallas i think alot of people didnt like what was going on at the time espcially since the job market was very Iffy.
Pros
Less than 5 years - 2 week vacation
More than 5 years - 3 weeks vacation
You can carry over your vacation to the next year.
Cons
Company does not provide any 401(k) match
Advice to Senior Management
Take care of employees
Pros
If you are good and have great soft skills, it can be a positive experience
Cons
Vacation time - below industry standards
Advice to Senior Management
Respect the skills of your knowledgeable employees.
Pros
Good Clients in Midwest , Good opportunities
Cons
Less Salary compared to market
Advice to Senior Management
To be aggressive in getting clients
Pros
They respect employees. When I got in, they paid me a couple grants more than I asked for the salary.
Cons
As a normal consulting company, when the client ends the contract and no new contract comes in, you maybe get layoff.
Advice to Senior Management
Everything is fine. As long as you could find more contracts, especially from the local government, that will be great.
Pros
Best reasons to work at Compuware
- Good, market leading products
- Large customer base
- Only known IT company in Michigan
- Good pay package
Cons
Downsides of working at Compuware
- Clueless leadership
- Company neither to big or too small, stuck in middle mentality
- Zero career advancement opportunities
- No options/support for further studies, enhancing skills
Advice to Senior Management
Compuware has to look at where it wants to be in 2, 5, 10 years. The leadership is completely unaware of what customers are asking for. The company has to create an culture for career enhancements, opportunities for growth for everyone. Many people are stuck in the same place for 5, 10, 15 years and they don't bring any new ideas.
Pros
- Possible can get your green card done without worrying too much. Good benefits as compare to other organizations. Dental also good.
Cons
Poor management ..No 4 0 1 K , vacation policy is not good either a
Advice to Senior Management
Move with time...don't stick to old rules
Pros
Flexibility. Long term position if desired with average performance. Solution Training and support. People. Great place if not concerned about great sales comp plan and looking for stable place to retire at.
Cons
Compensation. CPWR Name. Mid-West / Blue Collar culture. Detroit. Exp Report Process. No lunches paid for on business travel.
Advice to Senior Management
Mixed leadership and feedback. Old school CPWR mgt still exists within organization.
Pros
Sales people have more control of the sales process - less interference from the US. Particularly strong in the mainframe arena.
Cons
Very low brand awareness in the market place for non-mainframe products - making it tough for sales people. Competitors are more high profile and whilst Compuware may have a superior product they do not execute as well as the competition. A company is only as good as the people in the organisation and Compuware has had quite a high staff turnover in recent years.
Advice to Senior Management
Management lost the way in terms of how to compete in a competitive market place. The products were good, however, the use of partners to promote the Compuware products was seriously lacking, particularly when compared to competitors.
Pros
Bench time (between client assignments) paid, at least while I worked there. Many small perks offered to employees at corporate headquarters.
Cons
Employees are expected to adhere to both client and CPWR policies, even when conflicting. Little to no opportunity to change clients after placement. Corporate perks not extended to employees on assignment at client site. Services division employees treated like lesser employees by corporate.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't turn your back on the services upon which the company was built.
