I have been working at Compuware full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Onsite daycare, wellness center, and several retail establishments right inside the headquarters building. Decent vacation structure and pay in most positions.
Cons – Since the main founder of the company has retired, the company seems to be up in the air. Employees are concerned about their jobs, and there are rumors of the company being sold. No one I know feels confident they'll have a job in a year.
Advice to Senior Management – Be up front with employees about the state of the company.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Compuware full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Employee Benefits. Healthcare, Dental, Vision, disability, legal options, retirement savings (although the employer contribution to the 401(k) is dismal - it was at least added recently).
Cons – Lack clear career path to follow.
You are a number and the one-to-one relationship between the company and the employee is non-existent.

I worked at Compuware full-time for less than a year
Pros – Salary and benefits are pretty decent, bonus structure is fairly competitive. Corporate HQ is a great location with a lot of amenities for employees. The childcare facility is top notch and the best part about working there!
Cons – Absolutely no flexibility, zero work life balance, complete lack of training and leadership, totally micromanaged, off site boss absolutely out of touch with customers and business needs, no room for growth, no path for growth
Advice to Senior Management – Learn your people and their personality and what makes them tick. Don't micro manage. Actually act like you care about your people and engage in conversation with your employees from time to time instead of walking around the office like you are better than everyone. Management should stop bashing team members to all future team members. Everybody is on edge when managers are present, try and create a more "fun" environment and maybe turnover won't be so high in that group. People usually quit the manager not the company, managers in this group are giving the company a bad name. Stop bad mouthing the other company that resides in the building and learn from what they do to keep their employees happy.

I have been working at Compuware full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Vacation time, It's a job. Co-workers
Cons – -Management. I work for one of the worst personalities in the world.
-Lack of respect.
-Dealing with red-tape and blockades.
-Untimely communication between groups.
-Some groups seem to work against each other, on purpose.
-Salary.
-No growth.
-Policies change depending on who is making the 'call'.
-Working at HQ.
-Demoralizing boss.
-Not being 'heard'. Feeling like a peon. Being disregarded.
Advice to Senior Management – There is no advice that I could really give to management because they won't listen. The individuals with whom I've had to work have been there for years, are good at what they do and put up a great facade. Therefore, their behavior/personalities will be tolerated for as long as they are there.
The person to whom I would give advice is YOU, the (prospective) employee. If you need a job, then go ahead and apply. However, this company should be a last resort. Furthermore, just because a person hires you, it doesn't give them the right to patronize you or try to humiliate you in front of others. If you ever run into this--with any job-start documenting this person's actions and report to HR.

I have been working at Compuware full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great products, great people, North America's tallest indoor waterfall.
Cons – Marketing does not validate GTMs before launching. GTMs are poorly communicated across the company.
No focus - can't decide what it wants to be good at and which markets it wants to address
Advice to Senior Management – Focus. Hire better marketing leadership.

I have been working at Compuware full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Compuware gives me a great sense of empowerment. They emphasize collaboration. I believe that I am part of something big that is happening here. I like the great benefits, vacation and very competitive salary. The headquarters downtown is a beautiful state of the art building with all of the amenities we could want as employees.
Cons – still needs to clean up years of nepotism. Need to accelerate the pace of change with what is not working.
Advice to Senior Management – continue to reward excellence, continue to value execution and results. continue to empower and value your employees.
