I have been working at Compuware full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Above-average benefits, up to five weeks of vacation, flexible work schedule, good people to work with, and nice cafeteria.

    Cons

Located in downtown Detroit (long commute), management has never had a lack of vision, middle management is static, very poor communication from the top and what little we get is misleading at best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lie to your employees by saying the company is not for sale and then soon after selling about a third of it.

I worked at Compuware full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

An interesting job and a paycheck.

    Cons

Company in downsizing mode as they are trying to figure out what their niche is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Forget the "shrink you company to profitability" idea. It doesn't work. Hire back all the brilliant people you earlier laid-off and try to get new ideas for new business back.

I worked at Compuware full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Variety of assignments. Staff includes a wide assortment of interesting people.

    Cons

Long periods of "bench time"—expected to be in the office with no duties. No telecommute option; no leeway given for bad weather or other emergencies. Severely antiquated equipment (e.g., huge fifteen-year-old monitors that leave no room on the desk for a keyboard). High-pressure environment; some account managers are bullying and rude. Unattractive work environment in an out-of-the-way location (West Allis).
