    Pros

A great opportunity to try different things, educate yourself, and experience things few others will. If you have the drive, you can easily become an industry recognized expert. If you want the opportunity to enter an industry at the dawn of change, now is the time to join the Con Edison as the entire Energy Industry is starting a new evolution with technology and renewable resources. Did I mention no two days are alike? You get out of it what you put into it, and there is a lot you can get.

    Cons

Communications always seems to be a struggle between senior management and the workforce, but it eventually works. Because the energy industry is changing and Con Edison is entrenched in "culture" change has been hard for many to accept. To that, senior management and the Board of Directors could have been more gentle in recent transitions on retirement policies and health care programs for Management Employees. For the past 20 years may salary has continued to rise, however my take-home pay continues to erode as the Company shrinks Management's compensation package. The next Union contract will be an eye opener for many people..........

    Advice to Management

John, Craig, and the Board, thank you for the opportunity for an awesome career. Believe it or not, I understand why much of what has happened over the past few years has occurred. For my fellow employees, Management and Union, you have to be open, honest, and direct to your employees otherwise you loose credibility very fast - as during the lock out.

    Pros

The training for this company was the best training I have ever gotten from any job, it is extensive in depth and very helpful. The company has so many opportunities for advancement and growth, the benefits are great, most managers and co workers are friendly and helpful.

    Cons

It is challenging work since the call center is very busy, and the pressure of meeting company standards is high, but it is doable.

Longevity (which translates to loyalty) to envy. Opportunity, office culture - gentile and generational. You can't get on an elevator without acknowledging your colleagues - how great is that? Work life balance - depends on your department, but to be envied.

understanding the utility industry and its relationship to oversight organizations

    Advice to Management

Continue on the road to work life balance - be forward thinking. Continue to listen and understand what your staff are looking for to produce great results for the company.
