    Pros

    Lot of responsibility early on
    Collaborative Culture
Flat structure with lots of access to senior leaders
    Full P&L Ownership

    Cons

    Long commute from downtown
Bonuses are hard to come by
Highest levels of senior leadership (Note: CEO has recently changed so there is hope for improvement)
Commuter culture hinders some outside of work activities (i.e. happy hours are few and far between)

    Advice to Management

Find better ways to cultivate creativity so that new thinking and new ideas are encouraged

    Pros

The interviewers were very professional and very cheerful. They gave me water and a gift bag after.
The position requires relocation a few times through out the program, which allows for promotion every year or so. The benefits of the company and position are great and make the job well worth it.

    Cons

The room was a little dark and hot. Also, I have to Skype for my second interview and the internet was a little fuzzy.
I wish the salary was higher but you cant complain with the benefits and this being an entry level job.

    Advice to Management

Skypeing is not Ideal but if necessary make sure it works well on all ends.

    Pros

+ Highly skilled and professional staff
    + Friendly and collaborative culture
    + Generous compensation

    Cons

    - Slow decision making in matrix organization is almost as cumbersome as that in the federal government
    - Employees rewarded for being good presenters/internal salespeople, rather than shining in functional expertise (e.g., R&D people should be rewarded for great products, not for spin doctoring about them)
    - Insufficient fact-based decision making

    Advice to Management

    * Sharpen decision-making so it is faster and accountability is clearer
    * Reward employees for excellence in their functional accomplishments, not for internal salesmanship
    * Stop micromanaging
    * Sell Ralcorp - the acquisition was a mistake and time to cut losses

    Pros

Many Brands to support (provides opportunity), great pay and benefits, flexible work environment (work from home, tele-commute, etc.).

    Cons

Being in the consumer goods/food industry provides challenges in terms of commodity prices, and food is a very competitive world (up against Kraft, Mondelez, Hillshire Brands).

    Advice to Management

You've done a lot for all the employees, and are pretty progressive in your thinking. But need to figure out how to provide on-going support to key brands vs, trying to spread resources across all brands. Need to figure out the key to consistent growth in a turbulent environment.

    Pros

Good people... working hard to try and find solutions to larger business / industry problems

    Cons

Brands are struggling to change with the times. Need to be sharper with innovation, and not rely so heavily on core competencies such as canning and low cost protein.

    Advice to Management

Need to be better change agents. CEO is talking change, but leaders are blocking it, with posturing for their own roles and departments. RQI needs an overhaul. Building new items purely on capabilities has not proven successful. Need to innovate around changing consumer needs.

    Pros

Culture, benefits, strategy, and the desire of upper management and BOD to pursue growth.

    Cons

Weak portfolio brands, integration challenge and lower pay vs peers.

    Advice to Management

Aggressively restructure, pursue international growth, and sell off weaker brands.

    Pros

Great corporate culture, good benefits, room for advancement if you're good and patient.

    Cons

Location, location, location! Omaha is only fit for a few good men and women. I know many folks that have moved on because they don't want to live in Oma-Hell

    Advice to Management

Need to be more flexible with where Director level roles reside. I would still be with ConAgra if Naperville had been an option for my next role. I miss the company every day!

    Pros

Fair Salary, Vacation Time and if you're in the right division decent work/life balance.

    Cons

Disorganized Company with Massive Integration and Change. Systems very manual, if you're in the wrong division, you're in trouble. ConAgra has a very difficult time prioritizing, therefore everything gets piled on your plate.

    Advice to Management

Set a priority and stick to it.

    Pros

If you need to be in Omaha, Nebraska it is one of the largest employers around. Also has offices in Naperville, IL.

    Cons

The branded business are laggards, have desperately needed cash infusions for years to be able to compete. Senior management does not understand or believe in brand building. The Ralcorp acquisition was supposed to generate cash, but Ralcorp was in bad, bad shape. Now you have branded and private label businesses starving for cash, there isn't enough to go around, and senior management is paralyzed, focusing only on living quarter to quarter.

    Advice to Management

Step aside, you can't fix this.
