I have been working at ConAgra Foods full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible working hours, summer hours (half day friday), Omaha is a great city if you have a family. Very supportive leadership.

    Cons

Average pay, hard to advance into leadership roles. No profit sharing. This company is a leader but is American. there are no international opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hold people accountable. people make mistakes doing their best. people make mistakes because they don't do due dilligence - hold them accountable.

I worked at ConAgra Foods as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great relocation package. Managment is very supportive and cares deeply about your development. Huge efforts made to keep interns engaged and active. They will offer job offers to almost all interns in the program.

    Cons

Obviously if you are in manufacturing, plan to work in very rural communities. I didnt see this as a bad thing, but some might be driven crazy living in a farming town. Your experince will also very greatly based on which location you are at.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep investing in the internship program as you have been doing. Conagra was voted as having a top 100 internship program for a reason and I think it really shows to those who experinced it.

    Pros

Work Life Balance, Development Opportunities, Networking & Volunteer Opportunities, Visible Leadership who wants to hear your opinion and thoughts, promotes creativity

    Cons

Due to the increased emphasis on growth, the company has done a lot of aquisitions over the past few years, although good, forces a lot of change in everyone's roles.

I have been working at ConAgra Foods as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great intern program, Really invested in "selling" you the company and making sure everyone enjoyed their time. Very generous Relocation Package for an internship.

    Cons

If you want to work in Continuous improvement you will need plant experience which will require you to live in a more rural area for at least 2 years. Not for everyone.

I worked at ConAgra Foods full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The team, the management, the principles, the relationship between management and employee...I can't list everything.

    Cons

Some aspects towards project management and transfer of a project to operational control need to be ironed out. The process can be seen as clunky at times, but I know that they engineering group is fine tuning the VSU process to eliminate this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to develop the skill sets of the floor employee. Conagra has some truly dedicated employees (we see this every year as we celebrate employees with 40+ years) and they all want to see true success. Don't lose focus on this, it was an honor and a privilege to work with your Waterloo team.

I worked at ConAgra Foods as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

As an intern at ConAgra Foods, I gained leadership skills, honed my presentation skills, and was able to enjoy my summer in a new city. I was given $4,500 to move to Chicago and my salary eas $1,200 bi-weekly.

    Cons

I was the first intern for my department and at times everything felt a little disorganized. By the end of the internship everything came together though.
