    Pros

Diverse culture of associates, hourly employees are great coworkers and very driven.

Company is not development oriented, not a lot of room of advancement w/o relocation. site specific information: worked 2nd shift for over year with no exposure to upper management

    Advice to Management

Have a true plan for development.

I have been working at ConAgra Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No need to try to break new ground or do anything differently. Just maintain the status quo and be nice to everyone and you will prosper.

    Cons

Horrible benefits, very low morale with constant corporate layoffs and rumors of layoffs. Management can't accomplish anything. One year they say they are going to be the world's fastest growing food company, the next year they say we are going to be in the list of top desirable employers. They don't even try to meet their goals. They just say it is going to happen and then they assume it magically will.

    Advice to Management

Seriously, you guys should start making good decisions. Glad to see the CEO leave. Hoping the new one fixes something.

I worked at ConAgra Foods (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very good employees to work with. On site campus are very nice and make the overall environment pleasant. Decent reputation.

    Cons

Not the most stable environment. Project definitions and requirements were not always clearly defined. Unrealistic work life balance. Compensation could be a little better.

    Advice to Management

Stabilize your environment. Do a better job of communicating to you employees. Make sure your expectations are clearly defined for your analysis.

I have been working at ConAgra Foods full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Work year round. Hourly employees are mostly good people.

    Cons

If you ask for a day off for a religious occasion it's denied and are told to call in which then goes against your attendance. If you have a vacation week(7 days)and ask for it off because of a birth of son/daughter only 5 days are given. An Agreement says you will only do 3 days of overtime per week, but employees are routinely required to do up to 7 days. They don't hire new employees to reduce the stress of overtime on current employees. Management. Supervisory personnel constantly releasing product out of grade to make budget on pressure from management. Cutting hourly positions left and right.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees as people not machines.

I have been working at ConAgra Foods full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Can learn a lot if given the opportunities, but the opportunities are not handed out equally or based on merit.

    Cons

Been with ConAgra for 10 years and we are coming up on the 3rd major employee decline due to selling off some of our business. Also in these 10 years, there have been 2 smaller layoffs so we are averaging a downsize of employees about every 2 years. Unstable and a lot of promotions for those who seem to know someone already within the company.

    Advice to Management

Focus on hiring managers with extensive proven abilities! Start management trainee programs in all sectors. Care about employees being insecure of their employment future and cautiously make business decisions with that in mind.
