I have been working at ConAgra Foods as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great company, enjoyed the down to earth normal people. Meaning full projects, very lean so really get to take control and handle the projects and make recommendations

    Cons

very business management focused, for marketing don't really get to do marketing things. Each team is very different

I have been working at ConAgra Foods full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work life balance. Many smart and committed professionals. The organizational foundations are solid and the company will self correct. Technical support is above average.

    Cons

Senior managment does not understand the private label business they bought (for too much...). Morale is low for both legacy conagra employees who feel they are being punished for a poorly thought out acquisition as well as former ralcorp employees who see the dismissive arrogance of Omaha.
Conagra is extremely top heavy - there are 15 VPs in human resources as one example.
Benefits are lousy, employees pay for cell phones, Sr. Directors and up love to take the corporate jet to unesscesary plant visits. Turnover is at an all time high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Process will never replace good people. Make the hard choices now so it doesn't drag morale down further.

I have been working at ConAgra Foods full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunities to get involved in employee networks if you choose.

    Cons

Company is struggling, but has good plans in place to correct. No professional growth or systems in place to REALLY grow people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wow, why so top heavy? Just because someone has been there a long time doesn't mean they should be a Dir or above, much less have people reporting to them!

    I worked at ConAgra Foods

    Pros

Good people to work with, clean environment, located close to indy.

    Cons

Work can be redundant at times, expect to work overtime without much notice that you need to.

I have been working at ConAgra Foods full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Work enviroment provides ample opportunities for growth within the company.
Lots of opportunity to explore many diffferent aspects of food manufacturing

    Cons

Pay could be better. Benifits are not that great. Through "partnerships" the struggle to maintain confidence that the company pays it forward to the production facilities that have put in the grunt work to show growth and improvement is next to none.
