    Pros

    Lot of responsibility early on
    Collaborative Culture
Flat structure with lots of access to senior leaders
    Full P&L Ownership

    Cons

    Long commute from downtown
Bonuses are hard to come by
Highest levels of senior leadership (Note: CEO has recently changed so there is hope for improvement)
Commuter culture hinders some outside of work activities (i.e. happy hours are few and far between)

    Advice to Management

Find better ways to cultivate creativity so that new thinking and new ideas are encouraged

  6. Strong Brands offset Weak Leadership; but ConAgra remains a great place to get experience for your next job

    Pros

Really loved the brands; the simplicity of the International business in its beginnings; the many opportunities to do and try new things. Very good salary and bonus plan for sales. Many excellent logistics, Customer Service and supply-chain experts.

    Cons

Overly political internal leadership structure and very Omaha-centric; Observed active discrimination against older employees, especially those who didn't fit the style of a top-down leadership structure. Leaders selected among insiders and for "look and fit" versus skill and contribution.

    Advice to Management

Skills and experience don't seem to have value when a manager/leader has a different viewpoint. Diversity is talked about, but not practiced (Export is a good example). Hiring and promotions for those who "fit" the VP's personal opinion without earning position. Past 6 years has shown a lack of quality leadership at senior levels which has forced restarts in organizational operations again and again.
Entrepreneurial spirit is discouraged time and time again in place of "build the core" platforms. The Simplicity value is well received, but is often overdone. As an investor and former employee, I worry that ConAgra will continue downward without valuing both experience and new ideas as part of its organizational personality.
Many of my sales and marketing peers look at ConAgra as a 2-3 year stepping stone to better opportunities elsewhere.

    Pros

Company is shifting strategy to make LEAN/TPM part of their organizational design and to grow the business top and bottom line -in it for the long run versus just buying and selling companies

    Cons

MFG systems have years of disrepair to overcome and it's going to be a long, but worthwhile challenge. The ORG seems to continuously morph and needs stability.

    Advice to Management

Continue down TPM (CPS) path and focus on that process development, but also ensure you only hire site leaders with CPS (LEAN/TPM) "DNA" and a willingness to work for the long term; work hard and invest themselves in the site versus punch a promotional box.

    Pros

The interviewers were very professional and very cheerful. They gave me water and a gift bag after.
The position requires relocation a few times through out the program, which allows for promotion every year or so. The benefits of the company and position are great and make the job well worth it.

    Cons

The room was a little dark and hot. Also, I have to Skype for my second interview and the internet was a little fuzzy.
I wish the salary was higher but you cant complain with the benefits and this being an entry level job.

    Advice to Management

Skypeing is not Ideal but if necessary make sure it works well on all ends.
