I have been working at ConAgra Foods

    Pros

Coworkers are friendly, great environment. Have the ability to grow and learn if so desired. Fairly stable as far as job security as long as you are in a group that has value and show it. Managers are nice and push for excellence.

    Cons

Recent reorganization. Still recovering from overpaying for RAH. Slow at executing a strategic plan. Many layers of approval when trying to implement projects. Slow sales(2014) means small to no bonus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not everyone is impacted equally when decisions are made. Don't act to quickly without proper due diligence.

    Pros

It's a good first job, but don't plan on staying long. Learned a lot about leading people right away. People are fun to work with and have good hearts

    Cons

Lamb Weston ConAgra Foods has the worst leaders I have ever seen. Most are extremely selfish and think of their employees as just "bodies" not "people". This company is a "good ole boy" system. Doesn't matter if your good at your job, only matters of if management likes you. There is a 50% turnover rate in this position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your subordinates, think of others besides yourselves, get involved with your people

    Pros

Flexible working hours, summer hours (half day friday), Omaha is a great city if you have a family. Very supportive leadership.

    Cons

Average pay, hard to advance into leadership roles. No profit sharing. This company is a leader but is American. there are no international opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hold people accountable. people make mistakes doing their best. people make mistakes because they don't do due dilligence - hold them accountable.

I worked at ConAgra Foods full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

My salary was always competitive and there were plenty of opportunities learn and grow within the area.

    Cons

I experienced good managers and not-so-good managers, the latter of which were clueless and damaging to team morale and productivity. Health insurance is comparatively expensive, and coverage minimal. Annual wellness hoops were a pain. Advancement opportunities were few and far between.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make better choices when choosing your management team. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
