Pros
It is generally a great place to work at. There is a very high ceiling for professional growth. The company and management promote exposure within the company and nurture development.
Cons
The main downside is communication. Within such a large organization, there tends to be a breakdown in sharing information. Can be frustrating.
Pros
Great advancement opportunities within conagra
Cons
Ask alot from you on a day to day basis
Advice to Senior Management
Remember the people who work for you. Take care of them
Pros
Lots of challenging opportunities. Young professionals are given more responsibility here than at other mature CPG companies. This company has advanced it's training programs in recent years, but still has more work to do. Omaha is a great place to work, although there aren't many other food companies to move to without relocation.
Cons
I agree with previous reviewers - working long hours without recognition is the norm and management is very political.
Pros
Pay for interns is ok
Cons
Management doesnt care for the people bellow them
No consideration
Advice to Senior Management
Have respect for every employee you have
Pros
good pay and strong performance evaluation process.
Cons
* The Sr IT technical staff is saturated and is difficult to grow.,t here is really less upward movement in technical career path. The Certification process is over complicated and not many employees like it. Technical Resources are expected to be business analyst and project managers at the same time. So a technically savvy person would become less motivated very quickly.
* A technical person will seriously lack role models at Conagra. Good company for a business person. Not the best company if you want to grow in technical space.
* Be prepared to work longer hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Do something about employee engagement. Seems that the workforce is less motivated.
Pros
Career opportunities
Autonomy in job
Job security high if you are willing to relocate
Deveopment opportunities
Good pay and benefits
Cons
Promotions can seem seniority based and not compentency based at times
Messaging from senior leadership can conflict with actions
Appearance of gender bias at times
Advice to Senior Management
Ensure promotions can be fully explained and validated so key personnel don't get promoted soley on tenure--or the perception isn't such
Pros
-Great training programs
- Excellent collaboration among departments
-Room for vertical and lateral promotions
- The ability to share personal ideas with senior leadership
Cons
There are not very many downsides to working at ConAgra. They struggle a bit to help employees balance their work and life but they are making great strides to improve this.
Advice to Senior Management
You are all doing an excellent job communicating with your staff about major changes. Please continue to send more encouragement and incentive programs along the way.
Pros
management is paid relatively well compared to similar companies in the industry and there many career paths to choose from.
Cons
poor work/life balance. most in middle management are expected to work a minimum of 50 hours to 60 hours per week, plus occassional weekends. poor communication across departments.
Pros
Benefits at ConAgra are great. I also enjoy the new office building. Great place to work with friendly colleges and nice ammenities.
Cons
Do not always hear complements on a job well done or assessments on how jobs were performed. Both of these things would improve employee morale tremendously
Advice to Senior Management
I really enjoy working at ConAgra. It is a great place and it is a growing company. Definitely worth sticking with for the next 5 years.
Pros
Good pay, decent insurance, 401K, decent work environment
Cons
Not a good work/life balance AT ALL, 6 to 7 day workweeks year round
Not great communication between supervisors/leads and general workforce
Flippant answers to comments or suggestions from supervisors
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to worker feedback, encourage supervisors to treat employees respectfully
Make sure you have enough employees to cover for others days off
Pay more attention to how companies are run in general, I can't believe the waste that goes on!
