    Great and supportive team members

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsConceptus had great engineers and all were supportive in pushing each other to be the best engineer.

ConsI worked at this company under the old management. The Senior management was mostly focused on marketing and sales. Very little financial and management support were provided to the engineering department. Then in 2012, the company has hired a new CEO. I hope that the engineering team, receives more support.

All rating is based on the older senior management.

    Excellent product, managment needs revamped.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThis was, and still is, the best product on the market for women who have decided their family is complete and who do not want to ever worry about getting pregnant. It is a game-changing idea, and innovative concept for women.

ConsThe second-in-charge was more concerned with putting buddies in cushy jobs and trying to sell off the company, than building the company and adding to the product offering. A classic case of someone who only knows one trick (which usually works), but "OPPS" - the economy tanked.

Advice to Senior ManagementSell to another company or add products and grow

    Going nowhere

Engineer (Current Employee) Mountain View, CA

ProsUnique Birth Control device. Close to Sunnyvale and train station

    ConsWhere do I start.
    1. No new product in 10 years. VP of R&D has never delivered a product in his career.
    2. Low pay. Will watch what time you come and go. No Flex hours.
    3. Ore time spent in cover up than work
    4. Lot of Drama in engineering
    5. Lack of respect for outside the box thinking
Over all company with no future. The worst of the worst people FO and PK managing R&D.
I hate every day at work

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed more project. Your CR project is going to fail. Pay us more

Conceptus - a company who lost its way

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe best device (bar none) for PBC for women who are done having children.

ConsThe good old boy club is alive and well.

Advice to Senior ManagementTalent lies in many areas, not just in your "familiar circles" - too bad you didn't get the memo.

A multi-discipline position in the crowded field of elective birth control options.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsEssure procedure is unique and proven to be best-in-class. Physicians that do adopt the technology are very appreciative of your support.

ConsManagement constantly changing sales programs and setting unrealistic growth goals. Low reimbursement for physicians, elective nature of procedure and high deductible plans remain as huge obstacles.

Advice to Senior ManagementIn 2012 Conceptus finds itself in a make or break position. Ten years on the market and still not standard of care. Low patient awareness. Widespread direct to consumer advertising initiative is the only thing that will work.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
