I worked at Concessions International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Simple straight forward work, routine always the same, decent management, quiet work environment.

    Cons

Heavy workload, delivery sizes vary, working in extreme hot and extreme cold conditions in a work night, over night position and sometimes deliveries are late, workload needs a higher wage, overtime is used as a means to gain extra money, not many benefits.

    Advice to Management

A higher wage in this position would definitely keep the workers. When exhibiting so much strain lifting 50 to 75 pound boxes and bags each night, the wage doesn't seem worth the wear and tear. The wage should be at least $14 per hour.

    Pros

Working in a restaurant in the airport means the money and hours are pretty good, and you don't have to deal with the usual headaches you would find outside the airport, like marketing gimmicks and customers that cause problems.

    Cons

Management is completely backwards in restaurant savvy. It's tough to dispute a record like they have, the concepts they manage and the relationships they have with different brands, but when it comes right down to the execution of operating a restaurant, they would rather look out after their "own people" than recognize the ones that work hard. Instead it seems like they resent the hard workers because it makes others look bad.

    Advice to Management

Not all employees are created equal. Reward and encourage the ones that work hard, and hold the ones that hold the business back accountable.

I worked at Concessions International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company was innovated and progressive. Run by outstanding top management team. Also had great owners who understood what to do to continue to grow the company.

    Cons

Lost the bid in the Atlanta Airport which caused the company to down size,

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow the brand and set the pace for others to follow.

I have been working at Concessions International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We I love the customers and opportunity to meet tons of famous people. I never know who they are but the chance. We get meal card so don't have to pay for food.

    Cons

As a company overall we are short staff. I talk to a lot of people and we all work a lot. 6 days plus same days over 8 hrs.

    Advice to Management

We need to keep an eye on hrs. and staff levels. We are all tired in Denver. Also call offs are killing some people and no fair to lose PTO.

I have been working at Concessions International full-time

    Pros

    - Good work environment - Good place for entry level positions to get an individual acclimated to corporate work experience - Great combination of family and employee filled work environment - Customer driven and customer satisfaction focused organization

    Cons

    - Salary Compensation vs. Workload - Lack of communication amongst upper management affects the downline of employees at all locations - Room to grow or promotional opportunities due to the longevity of current employees holding those positions

    Advice to Management

Management should work on better marketing strategies to increase visibility within their area of expertise along with communicating to the employees the direction of the company, therefore, salaries may be more competitive in the corporate arena.
