Current Employee – been working at Concho

Pros – Compensation, culture, lots of responsibility, flat management structure. Big appetite for growth. Concho intends to continue to climb towards being the largest operator in the Permian Basin -- but they've got a long ways to go. That means lots more growth opportunity for new employees.

Cons – Concho runs a lean ship. They need to hire wayyy more people but they've run out of qualified people who want to live in Midland or who are here and willing to change jobs.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – The benefits are really good. You dont't find these benefits with most companies these days.

Cons – Managers are scared for their jobs and will not stand up for what is right, just do what their told. There is very little room for advancement, and they do not groom their employees for future opportunities.

Advice to Senior Management – Get better management skills. The management is scared to stand up to what is right, and they do not support their employees. Management should get better management classes, or get rid of who they are using. Change is not a bad thing.

Cons – No communication. What is communicated turns out to be downright lies. Unfair employment practices. Biased. Liars in mgmt.

Advice to Senior Management – Stop lying. Appreciate and respect what workers you have. Stop being paranoid.
