    Pros

As a company, I have found that there are very fair with their employees. For the most part we have been encouraged to speak to our supervisors, our higher if needed. I have always felt that I was heard, whether or not a solution could be rendered.

They provide a good working atmosphere. The room for advancement is not always available due to the lack of turn over, nor new positions opened.

In my 10+ years with the company my pay has increased while similar facilities have not been as fortunate, and our benefits have remained very good.

    Cons

While the above is a positive it can be a downfall.

With a large facilities you can become a number, as with as my place with thousands of employees.

    Advice to Management

Employees input is paramount. A great facilities empowers all who work for them. They are in the day to day flow of business, and may see things not visible by management.

    Pros

Everyone is really nice, the food in the cafe is actually not bad, the building is very well maintained.

    Pros

Positive and nurturing environment. Everyone is treated like family here.
    Excellent physician-nurse relationships.
Focus is highly emphasized on quality patient care and safety.
The organization and management care about their employees.

    Cons

No salary market adjustment for over five years.
Inadequate RN salaries for nurses who have worked within the organization or have RN experience of <6 years. Many hospitals, nursing homes, and VNA organizations in the surrounding area have higher starting rates for new grad nurses.
Average yearly compensation for nurses is 2-3%.
Not compensated for obtaining bachelor's degree in nursing. It would be nice at least to have appropriate credentials on name tags.

    Pros

Good work/life balance. Self scheduling and flexibility. Good opportunities for advancement. Nice physical space and equipment. Nurses and physicians work as a team.

    Cons

One of the lowest paying hospitals in the area. Marginal benefits.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, don't just say you care, act like you do. Some management have been there too long, could use a housecleaning.

    Pros

Decent benefits at reasonable cost. Relatively stable. Quality services.

    Cons

Limited opportunity for advancement. Salary is not competetive at 40-60% of market.

    Advice to Management

Better feedback and recognition of employees on an individual level would be appreciated. In this economy it's also difficult for employees to understand benefit cut backs and new salary cut backs when the hospital continues to expend and give so much charitable care. Employees feel disposable.
