    Great community

    Director (Current Employee)
    Moorhead, MN

ProsWonderful community dedicated to educating tomorrow's leaders. The college has modified its business curriculum to better prepare students for future careers. My co-workers really care about each other and students. It is a great community to be a part of as an employee. It is a good place to begin a higher education career.

ConsAdministrators tend to play multiple roles on campus which makes it very difficult to maintain a work week that is less than 50-60 hours. Salaries for mid-level administrators are not as competitive as they should be and the college tends to lose those experienced people to the universities nearby.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt would be helpful to have greater incentives to retain employees with 10+ years of experience.

Convenient on campus jobs for students

    Lifeguard (Former Employee)
    Moorhead, MN

ProsHours match class schedule so it is really easy to pick up short shifts during the day. Great way to meet other students. Guards rotate so you are able to work on homework and multi-task during shift.

ConsPay not as good as what you could find off campus. difficult to get many hours if that's what you are looking for.

    Tutoring at Concordia College

    Tutor (Current Employee)
    Moorhead, MN

ProsFlexible hours - you can work as many hours as you'd like.
You work with the same people all semester so you can better get to know how to help them.

ConsPay is just above minimum wage, which can be hard as a student.
Some students can be hard to work with.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Student Manager- Good for advancement.

    Student Manager (Current Employee)
    Moorhead, MN

ProsBest-paying job on campus. It pays over a dollar more per hour than any other on-campus job. The managers are big into helping you onto your future career. If you get in good with your supervisors, they'll be great references for you when you are job hunting. Also, your fellow student managers are great people. They're a bunch of fun to work with.

ConsIt begins to consume your life. I need money, so I work more hours. Then I need more money, so I work more hours. I've begun to feel like I do nothing but work. Also, I don't really like smelling like fries and popcorn.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive SM's a raise.

    Excellent teaching experience

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsAll staff are passionate about teaching languages and have innovative ideas. There are great support systems to help new teachers out.

ConsSometimes more tenured staff are less open to changing procedures.
