I have been working at Concur full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Concur is a highly desirable employer and leader in the SaaS Corporate Travel and Expense space. Benefits are competitive and one can enjoy a work/personal balance here. Really like working for my manager.

    Cons

Highly leveled, many layers of management. Recent announcement of SAP will change the culture of the company, just not sure how much yet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Depending on the degree of autonomy with SAP (when that acquisition goes through), consider a flatter organizational structure.

I have been working at Concur full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Despite rapid growth over the last few years, the company has done a good job of maintaining it's culture and focus on it's core objectives - which includes hiring and rewarding great people.

    Cons

There have been growing pains, and there is lots of work to do to meet the aggressive goals. Overall compensation is pretty good; however, healthcare benefits and 401K could be much better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to keep focused on being truly innovative, and not accepting "good" when "great" is within reach.

I have been working at Concur as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

company is growing good, be patient and there should be advancement opportunity. people are generous. not as much personal growth when you are in a big company. pay is reasonable

    Cons

monthly parking is about $150, same as Symetra building, i think they do have bus pass? heard from an accountant their book is kinda messy. seems like a pretty high employee turnover rate. the manager ended my temporary contract on the last hour of my last day, no notice at all. temp agency called a week after wondering why I haven't turn in my time sheet, not aware of they ended the contract without notice. Can't say the whole organization is like that, but that didn't seem very right to me. Anyhow, a year after I was gone, I found the people from that team, all working in different places.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Concur (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The people. Hands down. It's the people that make this place an amazing place to be. I want to be here, and have since the day I started 9 years ago.

    Cons

We've grown incredibly fast. The structure isn't totally scaling to the massive amounts of growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm really proud to be here, and am grateful for all of the opportunities I've been given.

    Pros

This is a very communicative and friendly envoironment.
Team work is a way of life here.
Growth and personal development are strongly encouraged and supported.

    Cons

Some internal system changes occur without any explanation of the benefit to the employee or the company and then they are occassionally reversed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lets keep the growth and dedication to our clients going in the right direction.

I have been working at Concur full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's rare to find a successful company where the three founders are not only still at the company 20 years later, but are actively engaged and involved with the daily operations and strategy of the business. There is a real effort to maintain a strong culture and adhere to company values, which isn't always easy or successful with 4000 employees. Not every effort is a success and I'm sure others have had weaker managers, but when you look across this business as a whole, it's a unique place to work.

    Cons

It's a very distributed workforce which is a change from the business just five years ago. A lot of the growth is in other states or countries, so if you're someone who needs to feel like you are sitting next to all of your important colleagues, you may not be comfortable. End of the year raises and bonuses seems to be a bit disorganized which is probably related to the rapid growth and trying to manage that with new systems.

I have been working at Concur full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The team I work with and my ex-manager were awesome. That makes a big difference in motivation and work choices.

    Cons

There are some people who take advantage of being in a senior position to sort of harass the ones who don't choose to climb the ladder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Owners are great, but then some senior management in sales is not really carrying the owners' work culture forward. Happens.
