Former Employee – worked at Concur Technologies as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – My review is particularly for the IT dept. Great guys to work with. I was there for about 18 months. No micro management crap. You get plenty of opportunity to put your ideas on the table.
Cons – Nothing much on the negative side. Just that the teams within the IT department can be more organized and communicate on regular basis.

Current Employee – been working at Concur Technologies full-time for less than a year
Pros – This company strives on innovation culture and team work. Excellent opportunities for growth and innovation. People are amazing. Clear goals and objectives, very less politics. Senior management and top leadership are excellent. Heirarchy is literally flat, so dont have to do show off to get visibility. You do good work you get rewarded, as simple as that. The travel and expense industry has huge potential for growth and so is this company
Cons – Parking/ cafeteria and benefits. None of which are a deal breaker.

Current Employee – been working at Concur Technologies full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Dynamic environment . Opportunities to learn.
Cons – Culture is not align in all offices. Some managers see things in Micro . No independence in taking decisions. Limited Opportunities for promotions or new hiring due investment in new ventures. Salary increases scale /Promotions are basically the same between lazy and top performers . Some managers get promoted out of the cycle without real achievements when lower level management get the leftovers.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest more in training for Managers.

Current Employee – been working at Concur Technologies full-time
Pros – As far as travel and expense booking tools go, it is number one in the market. With contracts with the US government, french government, and big companies such as google, microsoft, boeing, jp morgan, and american express just to name a few, Concur is dominant.
The corporate culture is good. There is work life balance, everyone is friendly, and the benefits are good. 21 paid time off days is quite generous.
Cons – Concur is using an obsolete technology stack and is not making any progress toward getting rid of it. Its a career dead end for developers. There are over a million lines of classic asp in the legacy code base with thousands of new lines of vbs added every month. It is quite spaghetti. Very few people understand it, and even people who have worked there for many years can't answer questions about features that they wrote. New hires are going to struggle and spend days writing one line fixes for simple customer cases, because debugging the code is a nightmare. It is not cleanly structured, meaning business logic and UI logic are mixed together inside functions that span thousands of lines. There are no coding standards or conventions in the asp code base so even reading it is difficult.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of the asp code base. Get rid of XSLT. Get rid of outdated javascript frameworks like ExtJS and prototypeJS. The current architects are using new technologies like asp.net MVC but are using them to simulate classic asp to avoid dealing with compiled code. Hire a full time build manager to get around this issue.

Current Employee – been working at Concur Technologies full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Concur is a 'nice' place to work, they don't work on the principle of using you up and throwing you away. It is more of a relaxed atmosphere. They pay a 10% bonus pretty reliably.
Cons – Oppourtunities to advance are limited. Salary increases are limited to cost of living. No opportunity for stock options
Advice to Senior Management – You need to think about the little people who make the big people big.

Current Employee – been working at Concur Technologies full-time for more than a year
Pros – Management takes time to learn your strength and weaknesses and applies them to company. Strong culture. Executive leadership is innovative and inspiring. High growth company, ample opportunity.
Cons – This company thrives on growth. If you are are a stagnant performer or don't fit in with company culture you may not have an enjoyable experience.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue what you are doing. Many companies that experience this sort of growth plateau and try to change or adapt and lose their ground.

Current Employee – been working at Concur Technologies full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good people, good benefits, good work/life balance
Cons – Cut territory in half and doubled quota. Added too many employees and 1 out of 30 hit quota first quarter.Better hope you have good partners who send you business and a good territory otherwise you will not hit quota.
Advice to Senior Management – Be realistic with number/quota. Doubling quota and cutting territory while adding more people sets employees up to fail. No matter how much you try to say all territories are the same they are not. Sales people who have the biggest cities typically do the best. CEO says everything is fine, but the management under them are saying something different .

Current Employee – been working at Concur Technologies full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – There is always a whole lot of opportunities, a lot of technology, a lot of growth, and around every corner is a new chance to grow and succeed, you just have to sell yourself.
Cons – There is a large and growing pool of middle management, but limited career paths for non-management persons.
Advice to Senior Management – Never hurts to invest in more manager training and screenings and maybe some 360 reviews.
