    Pros

The company has shed some weight in terms of people holding the company back from expanding into additional markets and embracing new ideas. The addition of a new CEO and new CTO has helped foster this mentality. There are still some hurdles in terms of repositioning the company but based on the company atmosphere any potential issues are workable. Also, employees are motivated with a willingness to bring on new people and help them learn the company.

    Cons

Some uncertainty about future expansion as there will be a shift in how teams/departments interact with each other and are formed.

    Pros

Steady job and mostly clueless top management allows engineers and mid-level staff survive without a struggle. The CTO is a lifer (been there 30 years) and retiring in a few more - so everyone knows not to expect anything from him. The Sales guys are just barely hanging on and so it's a good place to chill.

    Cons

If you want a challenge - you don't want to be here. The management won't take risks - so you won't be learning the newest cool stuff.

    Advice to Management

Do something different with your products. Get rid of your current Board of directors. Unless you want more of the exact same for the next decade. You are almost irrelevant in the market today and your technologies are rusty.

    Pros

Concurrent has some really good people. The product offering is strong. Large domestic customer base and expanding international potential.

    Cons

Leadership commoditizes workers. No raise without promotion, so very top heavy organization. This creates a short staffed working class, so expect to work more than 40 hours on average with no reward unless you are connected. HR prides themselves on "worst in class" benefits which doesn't attract top level talent or maintain existing employees. Since this is critical in a small/medium sized company, Concurrent is destined for meritocracy at best.

    Advice to Management

Acting like your employees are important is not the same as treating your employees like they are important.

    Pros

Very talented employees. The company has potential.

    Cons

Cliques, favoritism and 'yes man' culture. This is not really a 'Con' since this trait is endemic of corporate culture in this country.

    Pros

Their relaxed work atmosphere is really hard to find elsewhere. The work is exciting and the people are really intelligent as well as fun to work with. They are willing to teach and grow together and everyone shares responsibility for the company though they all act like they couldn't care less. Have to keep up appearances lol.

    Cons

Due to the economy, they have downsized considerably and a lot of people have taken on many more responsibilities without little or no return on investment. Some employees' salaries have not changed for a few years which is really unfair and unfortunate.

    Advice to Management

People who work at this company really love it and really see it as their second home. A lot of them take their work home, on vacation, everywhere. My first piece of advice would be to be more open and forthcoming with future plans; people will appreciate it regardless. Also, the compensation should be at least somewhat close to market value; every one at this office works really hard and they deserve to be paid their worth.

    Pros

If you are in a desperate need for a job and its your last resort

    Cons

No room for advancement unless you are buddies with the person making the decision. Company is in deep financial problems. No raises or 401K match for the past 3 years. Every year there are lay-off. Most Managers do not know what they are doing yet still exists. Open positions are usually not posted so they can bring their buddies in.

    Advice to Management

Hire Managers who have experience within their field.
