I have been working at Connecticut College as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Water view, exceptional help available for free, caring teachers, and friendly students.

    Cons

Be prepared for its small size and administration not spending money efficiently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

"Shared Governance" does not work all of them time. Since students are operating as full time students it can be difficult to run effective student government/administration.

Additionally, we need to make sure our money is spent efficiently.

I worked at Connecticut College as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

This is an interesting place: they do a lot on a low budget. The school has all attributes of elite liberal arts school but a very easy, down-to-earth atmosphere. As faculty, I got a lot of freedom in planning my classes, help from my colleagues and administrative assistants, great learning opportunities from center for teaching and learning, great computing infrastructure.

    Cons

My only disappointment was the pay, but it's low for adjuncts everywhere.

Generally laid back but still passionate people are working here.

    I worked at Connecticut College

    Pros

Enthusiastic people, but not so hectic schedule. Salary is fine as long as you don't shoot for a spiffy amount. Lot of locals working, so quite a familial feeling in the office - most of them are neighbors somehow.

    Cons

As with any other college, the students are difficult to deal with sometimes; especially if they are the problem. You need to vent if you're in a position to directly interact with unhappy students. They tend to come with a higher than average sense of entitlement esp if their parents pay full tuition. Roll with the punches, they're not too hard. Upper management takes care of nasty cases.
