Pros
Strong core values, Experienced management, global opportunities, career potential opportunities only limited by individual initiative. Very ethical company with strong systems, processes and training structure. Typically good pay + benefit packages.
Cons
Undertaking reorganisation (2011) which is creating instability and concern. An Oil and Gas company which is part of an industry that draws constant criticism (often unfairly) from the general public - you need at times to have thick skin.
Advice to Senior Management
Current strategy to split the company appears more to pander to analysts than to fundamentally improve the business. Which is this really a strong, long-term strategy?
Pros
Beautiful facility, pleasant environment, the people who are nice are REALLY nice.
Cons
No true vision or plans for managing retail & marketing, priorities and goals for current year change without explanation or time for annual plan to gain traction, very political, innovation and creative problem solving not encouraged, department managers hired and retained despite poor performance in managing staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to separate downstream from upstream. Downstream will never get the focus it deserves when competing against the high profitability of Exploration and Production.
Pros
-Overall good company
-safety comes first
- cares about employees
-Faire bonuses and compensation
Cons
- poor upper management
- unknown identity (technology leader-integrated-independent-???)
- poor communication from upper management
- unproductive competition between employees
- poor training for employees
Advice to Senior Management
Too much focus on short term plans and share price. Need to make your mind what company you want ?
Pros
Great work life balance, good benefits, interesting work locations, well-maintained facilities, powerful company, friendly culture, vacation/time off perks. Overall very solid company.
Cons
The biggest con is the uncertainty with ConocoPhillips splitting into two separate companies within the next year or two. There could be many opportunities but there could also be some employees who will be unhappy with switch.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't stray away from what made your company so great. Make sure that you take care of the employees who have contributed to your success.
Pros

Advice to Senior Management
Hire more young engineers, so that they bring fresh ideas

Cons
senior management Havent planned correctly
Pros
Good pay and decent benefits. Could be much better on medical benefits.
Interesting work with daily challenges.
Excellent union workforce.
Cons
Production over Safety Mentality.
Micromanagement.
Company feels that it "owns" its employees.
Cronyism.
Lack of diversity.
Management does not appreciate or empower employees.
Vindictive bosses.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote true leaders or develop leadership skills in existing management.
Stop stripping employees of the power to make decisions.
Adhere to developed safety procedures and involve employees in the development of new ones.
Hire more employees instead of increasing work loads.
Does Jim Mulva know what's going on at Bayway?
Pros
Pay, great benefits, job security, respect from community, positive environment, The environment is safe, and people seem generally happy to be there.
Cons
Company split , Contractors are rude and obnoxious to employees, no cafeteria, mandatory bottom ten percent rating. Peoples performance is compared to other people in similar positions.
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of some of the dead weight contractors and people with bad attitudes. The environment would be better if people that drug others down were eliminated.
