    Pros

Great pay, benefits while still having work-life balance. The people are generally nice and not competitive with each other.
People are rarely fired, even if they don't do their job.

    Cons

Slow moving with regards to change and improvement. Middle management suffers from "group think" and lets office politics dictate business decisions, often wasting a lot of money and time.
People are rarely fired, even if they don't do their job.

    Advice to Management

Fire people more often so that people will stop being complacent and start doing their jobs.

    Pros

Benefits are good compared to others.

    Cons

Hold people back, don't promote from within, lack of respect by management, only management knows whats best attitude. They say one thing and do something else with regards to safety and production.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people! Promote the qualified personnel from within the company! Work to effect your personnels attitude in a positive manner in regards to safety. Be creative don't keep copying BP policies and processes!

    Pros

The company has wonderful compensation, benefits, training and career opportunities. It prides itself on operating safely and that really helps the bottom line. It is also a nice environment to work in.

    Cons

Majority of the opportunities in the Finance function are in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. That is not a very attractive area in regards to obtaining young talent, as it is a retirement community. Also, please just be very mindful of who you select to be in management. Some people, no matter how good they maybe as individual contributors, are just not suited to be supervisors, directors, or even managers in some cases.

    Advice to Management

The benefits and compensation are great. Please just be very mindful of who you select to be in management. Some people, no matter how good they maybe as individual contributors, are just not suited to be supervisors, directors, or even managers in some cases. They are selfish and don't always have the ideals and goals of adding value to the ConocoPhillips brand. This also will run off many talented people.

    Pros

Corporate culture values putting people first and it truly shows. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. The project I was given was meaningful and gave me the opportunity to learn quite a bit.

    Cons

There really weren't any issues in the work place but there were some with the location. Bartlesville is a small town with little night life and weekend activities.

  10. Large global company with very diverse culture across regions

    Pros

Culture has vastly improved since the CEO. Compensation and benefits are great!

    Cons

Upper management is working diligently to improve the culture. There is still improvement needed with lower management. The culture has not fully taken hold with all levels.
