    Pros

Strong sense of community throughout the district, with lots of administrative as well as community support. There is a good rapport between colleagues on my campus and within our feeder schools. Being a large and growing district, I feel my position is secure and very blessed to be here.

    Cons

I really can't think of any.

    Pros

Well-respected district Typically good parent and financial support

    Cons

Incredibly time-consuming paperwork/online documentation required that is often redundant. Principal leadership seems to be a mixed bag around the district-some tyrants, some softies, some great Far too many programs implemented without proper support or training Parents always come before teachers

    Advice to Management

Stop allowing those at the district level to implement programs/changes/mandates that are really just to try to make them stay relevant in their position under the guise of doing what's best for kids. Enough with the terribly technology- First Class and View It are ANCIENT and look like something from 1998. This is not appropriate in today's workplace. If you require me to use online documentation then it should be effective and professional. This defeats the purpose of documenting as no one truly uses it reflectively. View It is terrible terrible terrible

    Pros

The pay is reasonable, but that is about it.

    Cons

Senior management allows no input into district decision making. Unless you are part of the "Good Ole Boys" club you have no hope of advancement.

  9. The first 9 years were great. I worked at the then Reaves Intermediate, which became Cryar Intermediate.

I worked at Conroe Independent School District full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the teachers are wonderful, the administrators lack much.

    Cons

It's a good ole boy bureaucracy. If you get caught in the cross hairs, you never win.

    Advice to Management

Remember what it is like to be in the classroom. Be nice and not so cutthroat.

    Pros

Inclusive of all learners, much opportunity and expectation of professional growth, clear and consistent in expectations, wonderful sense of community, excellent superintendent

    Cons

Huge amounts of testing. Day long benchmarks in every subject, three times per year, in addition to literacy assessments at least 3 times per year that take days to complete for all class members. Weekly common assessments in reading and math which may also take an entire test day for each. However, this is not entirely the district's fault. Sign of the times....

    Advice to Management

    None. I love working there!

Good job if you want to sacrifice salary for school schedule. You are off holidays and summers.

    Pros

37.5 hrs per week, plus off all school holidays and the summer.

    Cons

Very low pay, with a lot of responsibilities and no room to promote and very low (less than .10/hr) annual raises, if any.

    Advice to Management

Paras are the backbone of the school. You are losing excellent, dedicated employees because you expect way too much for way too little pay.
