    Pros

Decent company to work for. Headquarters of parent company (Exelon) is a plus. Lots of opportunities compared to most large companies

    Cons

Employees don't care. Laziness is rampant. The industry is boring. Growing business is next to impossible. Workers are anti social.

    Advice to Management

Management is great. The industry is bad. If I were a young person I would avoid at all costs. No young person wants to be a contracted worked. Hire people as full time employees, if they prove they are good.

    Pros

As an intern there were a variety of projects to get involved with and lots of things to learn. Everyone was very welcoming and willing to offer instruction when asked.

    Cons

Not necessarily a con, but during my time at the plant there was a long outage and so everyone had to put in a lot of overtime hours.

    Pros

Excellent company culture. Good benefits. I was laid off when my department was eliminated, but I was allowed to stay on the payroll until I was fully vested in my 401K and Pension. I received severance pay and out placement as well, so all in all i was treated very well.

    Cons

it was hard to communicate with the folks in upper management to discuss issues we we were having in the field.

    Advice to Management

Get out in the field more often to see what issues your sales people have to deal with.

    Pros

Professional working environment definitely a plus. Not a cut throat working culture at all when I was working there.

    Cons

Overall communication issue. I am not sure about other functions, but lack of communication between team members and standardization could be one of cons working at Constellation

  6. Constellation is a great overall company to work for, however politics play an integral role in advancing your career.

    Pros

The work environment is relatively low-key as long as you are performing better than expectations.

    Cons

Leadership micro-manages everything except does not provide the guidance necessary for success.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend more leadership development sessions in order to properly lead their respective teams.

    Pros

    My position was very flexible.
    Great manager and decent benefits.
    Young culture and personnel

    Cons

There is no defined career-pathing assistance. I think hr is currently working on improving this.

    Advice to Management

Increase opportunities for younger professionals to expand into larger roles.

    Pros

Good pay, good balance between work and personal life.

    Cons

A lot of inter office politics, constant delays to work, no room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Currently the company is run on many levels by the "Good-O-Boys" club. People are shuffled around and dismissed based on who is happy with them or who is unhappy with them personally, not professionally. Most of the personnel are at retirement age, but have not retired due to the looses taken to their 401k.

    Pros

The energy industry typically pays more than many other industries--at least locally. I got a significant bump with a lower title and less hours worked when taking a position here. There were great opportunities for learning at this company, depending on the division you work in.

    Cons

There was a feeling that it was tough to get promoted, no matter how hard one worked. Like many places, the politics were frustrating at times. Bad behavior from higher-level management was often times ignored.

    Advice to Management

Focus on office culture and listening and responding to feedback from your employees. Encourage higher ethical standards from your leadership.
