I worked at Constellation Energy Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay is very good and it's a safe environment.

    Cons

They will grind you into the ground. It's all about what you can do for the company, and they tell you stuff like work life balance is important, and that there are opportunities for personal growth and learning opportunities, but again, it's only if that's what THEY want for you, you don't often get an opinion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You've got some really great people who give their all, and just a very little appreciation in return for a job well done would be wonderful. You're quick to lay people out to dry, why is a thank you so hard?

    Pros

Plenty of work to stay busy
Good place for a competent project manager to gain experience.
Good for recruiters to place outsourced contractors.

    Cons

They decided to roll off most IT contractor regardless of their years of experience with the intention of bringing in new contractors as projects progress.

    Management opportunities are low

I worked at Constellation Energy Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent money, clean. The janitors are nice.

    Cons

No advancement as they hire outside the ranks. No opportunities. People don't share information because they want to feel superior. They brag a diverse culture but there's an undercurrent of nepotism. Work/Life Balance? What's that? The office is about 25000 square feet of desk tops with no privacy and it's difficult to concentrate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice to management. You're beyond lost trying to gain market share.

I worked at Constellation Energy Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good pay
    Emphasis on safety
Pension and health insurance, dental, vision, company contribution to HSA.
    Free parking
    Nice area to live

    Cons

If you want to enjoy your job, don't apply here. Employees are not valued, very limitted room for mobility within (it seems they would rather hire trainees with no experience and spend 2 years training them than allow ann employee to move), can't remember when a member of my management even said thank you. It's like working for the Gestapo. They can say anything they want about you and even if you have documentation it's not true, they refuse to change it, and HR is HORRIBLE. This coming for a long term employee who BTW was not fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You put alot of time into training people, why do you not care if they're happy or have any kind of work/life balance? People come to work and want to do the very best they can so stop treating them like disposable commodities. You couldn't care less about the line of people leaving there, why?

I worked at Constellation Energy Group

    Pros

Decent pay, convenient location, great bonuses

    Cons

Expensive benefits, promotions are based on who you know not what you know, constant changes in management, you never know what to expect from one week to the next.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Settle down already!!! Employees have no job security in Corp office. Managers constantly shuffled or fired. Goals change all the time.

I worked at Constellation Energy Group

    Pros

Health Benefits are the only positive that I experienced while at Constellation Energy. The only other thing that comes close to a "Pro" is the work/life balance.

    Cons

As stated in the "Pros" of work/life balance, the reason that the hours are low is because senior management does not push employees to strive to perform at a higher level.

    Advancement opportunities are very limited.

Information sharing (re: to the business and employee's performance) is very limited.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop rewarding employee complacency and focus on the employees with the knowledge and determination. Constellation also needs to focus on adding valuable talent and not just "button pushers".
