    Great Culture, Great People, CSCO is the major leagues unless you are ready to run with the big dogs do not show up for the interview.

    Cons

    Everybody is good, you will not be one of the best and brightest in the room most days if at all.

    Do a better job making sure everyone in the chain understands what Chambers expects from every manager.

    - The technical challenges were quite stimulating. Loved working with my team. Definitely A+ players.
    - The management was very encouraging as well.

    Cons

    - Sometimes the bureaucracy can be hard to deal with. Was not always clear about how one could grow one's career at Cisco.

    If you take the initiative, the culture allows you to take your ideas forward..

    The company is big and has hands in many areas. Different BUs compete with each other.. not necessarily bad, but sometimes can cause deadlock

    For important market areas, have a cohesive cross-BU architecture and strategy. More Bonus/stocks to keep talent.

    Too much politics, you need to know people in order to get a perm position. They acquiring too many companies and in the end they do not know what to do.

    That's why i want to come to cisco.
    I think its good for my career

    the biggest challenge is to work with people from different countries.
    Language backgrounds are different.
    communications with team is a challenge too.

    Cisco respects work-life balance and it's a pleasant place to work. They are big believers in remote working, which is a big plus.

    Cons

    They depend heavily on contractors and it's tough to get promoted for that reason, even if you are a high performer. Their contract rate is lower than the industry average.

    - company allows a lot of telecommuting
    - Big budgets so you can create massive marketing campaigns
    - Seasoned employees

    Cons

    - Decisions made by intimidation and who is loudest in the meeting.
    - Verbal attacks on subordinates not uncommon
    - Had numerous 3:30 and 4:30 am global calls and late evening calls to accommodate all regions
    - no product innovation
    - Sr management constantly takes credit for subordinates work and ideas

    - Drop the 1980s management by intimidation and fear culture
    - Think innovation not just rehashing old technology
    - Don't try to be all things to all people
