    Pros

Consumer Cellular is a great company to work for! I have never felt so appreciated for the job I do every day. Positive encouragement from my Supervisor, and being part of a supportive team; also, the pay and benefits are excellent.

Really is a company that cares about its employees and like to give back to the community.

    Cons

Be prepared for lots of change. This is pretty typical for a company that is growing, so need to be pretty flexible.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Try to keep that small company environment despite all the growth.

    Growing Company

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Promote quickly and correctly or lose great passionate workers

    Pros

Excellent benefits (401K, Profit Sharing, Monthly Bonuses, 100% paid medical/dental/vision)
Great Company (rated best companies to work for)
Managers and Supervisors are understanding and flexable
Professional Environment (managers and supervisors give you room to do your job)
Not so strict attendance policy (not really strict, don't know what the other people are thinking)
Advancement opportunities (can be promoted based on attendance and experience/skill)
Easy to obtain metrics (every call center has these)
Lots of PTO and UTO available to take time-off

    Cons

Don't believe all of the negative people. The attendance policy isn't so strict nor are the managers/supervisors evil people. Also the advancement opportunities are there if you want them and overall the office environment is supportive. I've on numerous occasions been given great feedback/advice from management/supervisors or my co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Keep being supportive and great leaders.

    Pros

Its a job, thats it I cant think of anything else
Its helps you pay the bills
    you do get benefits

    Cons

    1. management will get in to your daily life
    2. Management will do anything to take the bonuses you might get away. For example if you fail a month for any reason ( Quality or Daily stats ). I have worked there just under a year and have seen this happen to 7 people.
3.It does not matter if you are in the hospital and can prove it. It goes against your attendance at the job.
    4. you end up cleaning up other reps messes all the time. consumer Cellular is so about numbers and sales alot of reps take short cuts to meet numbers. If you have an issue I cant solve and go to a manager I hear things like I need to own the problem and solve it my self.
    5. There is little or no accountability of management. It is always the regular employees how seem to have to solve every problem
    6. And I saved my favorite for last. In an attempt to save money on paying out health insurance
consumer cellular is forcing employees to jump through there hoops or Consumer cellular will stop paying for any health insurance benefits. For example they propose little contests all the time and we as employees are forced to participate to maintain our health insurance benefits

    Advice to Management

Provide more assistance to your front line employees. the TSS system you have setup to help us does not work at all and it leads to more and more angry customers. Allow the front line employees to spend the time they need with each customer to fix there issues instead of hitting us over and over again with numbers. Ask your self do you want to have good customer service or do you want numbers. Its your choice guys win or lose the fate of your company is dependent on the little people. If your were to do these things it would cut down on your turn over rate and help the company

    Pros

Money is good, people are friendly, and the atmosphere is great. We also have great benefits and retirement plans as well as 401k accounts

    Cons

Not enough time off, and the hours are too long a part time shift would also be good and more shifts to choose from

    Advice to Management

More time off and flexibility with time off

    Pros

The company culture, pay, and benefits are all great! Consumer Cellular is truly a company that believes in taking care of both it's customer and employees.

    Cons

    None that I have found

    Advice to Management

Keep doing a great job of challenging employers and pushing them to further themselves!

    Pros

Good benefits. Lots of time off available. Different shifts available, excellent commitment to good customer service.

    Cons

Very poor communication between head office and call centers, no consistency in enforcement of policies and procedures by supervisors at the cell centers, terrible job efficiency (must often go roaming throughout the call center just to get a demo phone or to get an available supervisor, while customer is waiting on hold), CSRs are expected to solve the customer's issues, yet arent given all the tools to do so, constantly requiring contacting a supervisor who may or may not be available.

    Advice to Management

Very badly need to modernize the tools available to CSRs so they can do their job efficiently and effectively. Need to select supervisors who have good communication and people skills, not just experience with taking calls.

    Pros

Great benefits, pay and the choice to change shifts every six months.

    Cons

Status are hard and the call scoring is harsh. The time off policy is strict no wiggle room at all. Same with breaks if your one minute late you could get a documented for it.

    Advice to Management

More one on one time less email

    Pros

    Health care benefits are good

    Cons

Company stopped caring about the employees. The stats that had to be maintained was hard. Dealing with older generation first time smart phone users and telling them how to use the phone... but having to keep call times down, 4 to 5 minute calls only. Not Possible. Don't make your stats and you are written up, get written up 4 times in a 12 months period and you will be fired. Ask Supervisors what you can do to bring the call length and you will hear replies like "well just be faster" "try harder" "keep control of the call, don't let the person get a word in" Worked there for 3 years and only made 15.00/hr

    Advice to Management

Don't put so much pressure on the employees. Employees are so stressed out over stats and losing jobs that they are scared if they make a mistakes, miss a day of work etc they will be fired.
