I worked at Consumer Electronics Association full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

What could be better than helping to grow the consumer technology industry? CEA offers interesting work and compelling subject matter, with a great group of colleagues.

    Cons

The CEO is "king for life," and his word goes. The top executives are reluctant to challenge him and this can result in an "emperor has no clothes" work environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tap into the valuable input of your staff; For sr. staff: don't live in fear of upsetting the CEO

I worked at Consumer Electronics Association as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I worked hands-on on important projects, acted as a project manager, got valuable office experience, and learned software and analytic skills in a professional environment. Everybody is incredibly nice, and nobody is afraid to reach out and help you if you get stuck. Very supportive team and staff.

    Cons

Sometimes I was unsure of why I was doing what I was doing-- the bigger picture of the project sometimes was sometimes clouded, or I only knew what my department was doing with our part.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great work! Possibly explain projects more completely, so nobody is left in the dark.
