I worked at Continental Airlines full-time

    Pros

Alot of flight time, travel experiences, and great benefits! Not to mention decent pay, see the world, explore destinations, and get paid for it!

    Cons

Far away from home, home base and seniority make growth in the company very slow paced. pay only began when the cabin door closed instead of the moment you get on the shuttle or arrive at the terminal

    Advice to Management

Well not much now, they've merged with United Airlines, I wish they had invested a bit more in cross training

    I worked at Continental Airlines

    Pros

Continental had a clear strategy and mission. Senior management was strong and trusted by employees across multiple work groups. It was a fun and exciting place to work. People were proud to say they worked for Continental.

    Cons

The compensation was below market for most work groups. The value of the flight benefits had diminished over time. There were some internal politics

    Pros

Managers and execs make all the difference. Most airline managers quickly forget the reason for successes as those experienced by Gordon Bethune, who really turned the company around.

    Cons

Like all airlines, managers come and go. Employees generally stay through it all, good times and bad due to non transferable seniority.

    Advice to Management

Give employees the confidence, the responsibility and the authority to take care of passengers. Run an on time airline.
