Pros
The benefits are great. And team work is getting there.
Cons
The company is too big. This will take a closer working relationship among divisions. In due time, it will work out.
Pros
Management displays confidence in employees abilities.
Cons
The company is too big and Deer Park is an island.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to communicate better to their direct reports, provide better training and document procedures. The Finance department lacks a team environment.
Pros
Friendly environment and safe workplace. The organization is huge and chances of transferring between divisions and gain different experience is high
Cons
It underpays compares to other competitors. It so much relies on Germany for decision making and core product development, which makes your work inflexible.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to market salary for each position and adjust the previous employees pay and benefits. Give more flexibility to U.S. center to make their work more interesting
Pros
Very god place to work, Perfect work environment
Cons
low salary, unfair treatment between employees
Advice to Senior Management
Salary and benefits needed to bring up to industrial standard
Pros
High tech exposure to new trends
Cons
Slow promotion process, disconnect with main headquarters
Advice to Senior Management
Evaluate the opportunity for promotions more often
Pros
Good pay, decent benefits, nice campus
Cons
Everything is decided in Germany
Advice to Senior Management
Let the US business run themselves
Pros
Paycheck is adequate for now.
Cons
Upper management doesn't manage or set direction properly. They're too detached and there's a breakdown in discipline.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to hire competent people and remove the incompetent ones.
Pros
No accountability, flexible hours, interesting work
Cons
Engineering managers have no clue how to do their job.
Advice to Senior Management
Quit.
Pros
Senior management has led a great turn-around and have been very transparent and honest regarding the short term and long term challenges. They are working to improve employee development and financial compensation based on performance. Continental stresses the highest quality parts and the greatest attention to customer service. Most segments and groups allow you to take on greater tasks and challenges with the flexibility to decide approach and direction. Nothing is given without hard work and dedication but Continental will eventually recognize it if you provide it. I have always been very proud of every single product we produce and sell during my years with Continental.
Cons
The Automotive segment is not as lucrative as some professions so don't expect the greatest compensation. At times it appears that career development takes a very long time to achieve promotion between successive levels. Like many large corporations, Continental is looking to continue improving internal communications between segments as well.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to be transparent, honest, and develop your greatest employees to be even greater.
Pros
The People, hands down. Exciting projects. Transparency.
Cons
It seems that Conti-worldwide is all at the mercy of the German HQ. Salary's are on the low end, but the work environment makes it tough to leave. HR seems like they are pulling "fast ones" on benefits and salaries, just about yearly... (Stop benchmarking other companies, and give us what you think we deserve or have earned).
Advice to Senior Management
It would be nice to have surprise benefits... No more Christmas Parties. No more Golf outings. It is no surprise that we are a profitable company (sometimes record profits), it would be nice to see that stronger reflected back on the employees.
