    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Could be great if they paid more attention to their employee satisfaction

I have been working at Continental Datagraphics full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits (2-3 weeks of paid vacation, generous sick time, superior 401k program), flexible schedule, autonomy in certain roles, good opportunities if you are willing to relocate or change your work/life balance

    Cons

Salaries are much lower than industry standard, the norm is to be asked to take on new responsibilities, and even new titles, with little or very often no compensation, little value is placed on educational background as far as salary and opportunity to advance (could be a plus if you do not have a degree but have a good deal of experience). The office culture can be very nitpicky and tattle-tale based. Have basically given up on this company at this point after waiting a long time to see an opportunity present itself or any inkling of changes being made.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The most talented employees will continue to leave the company for far more money so long as there is a refusal to accept industry standards for salary.

    Pros

Part of Boeing - so less financial issues
stable work from Boeing - so no ups and downs
long history of people working here

    Cons

One man runs the company - what he says is what goes
Every six months there is a new flavor of the month
High levels of frustration at all levels - including senior management
Benefits are good but being pared down now
No focus on leadership development - all employees are treated as a shop-floor person

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on employee engagement
Really empower people to take decisions and accept failures equally as success
Treat all as equal and stop playing favorites
You say you are global but don't reflect that across all locations

    Pros

Working for the Big Boeing, looks good on a resume. The reality is that you work for little CDG, the company that most in Boeing just shake their head and wonder why the hell are they part of the team...

    Cons

Most leaders that have been at the company more than 10 years should do everyone a favor and take that early retirement.....you have very little respect of those you manage...most of your decisions are self-serving and its very apparent to all. You are really not that good nor that respected.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only advice I can give is that CDG needs a new chapter. new leadership. new team values. new marketing. new processes. Oh, its all so broken, all you can do is smile and move onto better companies.

I have been working at Continental Datagraphics full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - flexible hours
    - able to maintain a strong work-life balance
    - relatively low stress environment
    - friendly coworkers
    - decent benefits (health care , dental, eye)

    Cons

    - poor management, only values metrics doesn't build/promote a friendly work environment
    - management favors employees on a seniority basis
    - not much room for growth as an Engineer (a majority of the work done is based on company processes, would not be able to use knowledge to advance career outside of technical authoring)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Friendly work environment has drastically declined due to management restructure in San Diego. Employees are simply seen as drones to produce high numbers to satisfy metrics.

    Pros

This is an ok 9-5 type job. Time off policies are ok with fair vacation time available.

    Cons

HR has way too much power in this company and does not listen to management!!! There are also way too many grudges and politics here and this makes it a tough place to work. Your are not looked at by what you have done, but what the company thinks you have not done!! Lack of English spoken as a first language makes things very difficult as well....some people just don't get this as a major problem!!!! When a coworker sits next to you and starts talking in a foreign language with a person that comes to their desk, and then you are sort of looked at and laughed at....that is very uncomfortable!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know most managers are scared to say anything up the ladder for fear for losing their job, so it is useless to say anything to them because they won't listen. This is the same with supervisors and team leads!!!!!

I worked at Continental Datagraphics full-time

    Pros

flexible working time, good health benifit

    Cons

low paid, politic, no helping employee to grow, no change to move. Some promotion is not what the person should be, unfair.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

should take a look down to the employee stand view point, dont just listen to the managers and supervisor. people are unhappy on the production floor but didnt want to raise their voice because they think its useless.

    Good company to work for

I worked at Continental Datagraphics part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's an interesting company to work at least for a couple of years. You will definitely learn a lot. Many motivated and smart people

    Cons

Sometimes a little bureaucratic, management do not listen to different opinions. I had a couple of encounters with my boss, that is why I ended up leaving

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should listen more to its employees
